Actually, Anna used to occasionally get ! calls on her flip which is probably why they stuck with lutzes.

I don't really understand the judges on this preference for the inside edge since they seem to call flips as soon as they're verging on flat whereas they don't call lutzes even when they're obviously not outside. From my understanding, flips are supposed to be only slightly inside and lutzes are supposed to be deep outside so...
Not really, flip should be from inside and lutz from outside edge - that's how the things are define. Now, if one skater has deep outside lutz, slightly inside - close to flat flip will be tolerated in his/her performance. And vice versa. If one skater has inside flip, slightly outside - close to flat lutz will be tolerated in his/her performance. They probably wont get GOE point for a take off, and that's it. Nowhere is written that lutz should be performed with deep edge. It just has to be a visible difference (in real time) between flip and lutz take off in one skaters performance.

Players are owned in commercial clubs, be them soccer players, basketball, baseball, swimmers or any other sport.

So yes, some figure skaters are 'owned', their parents have signed contracts. Their pictures, images should be copyrighted to be commercially marketed and exploited in merchandise and the like. Rudkovskaya knows the drill.

I am certain 'Trusova' branded boots, bags, skating apparel, dolls, doggie costumes even, would sell. Aleksandra is hugely popular, universally likeable and hence marketable to the affluent part of society that has their children in figure skating.

You forgot one hashtag: #TeamEnvelopesToMakeThingsHappen

And given Rudkovskaya ambitions, drive and finances, this is only the beginning of turning figure skating into a commercial league. The great Yevgeniy Viktorovich is only a tool in her ambitions.

Just listen to Plyushchenko himself, it is always 'me, mine, my athletes, my staff', how obvious is that as to how the relationships are defined?

But I do think the state school sports system needs an overhaul, modernisation, more transparancy, better regulation of trainer-parents-athletes responsibilities Which will perhaps come with the new constitution and restructuring, liberalization of the Russian Federation as a whole?

FFKKR thought they had all bases covered with a 2 year quarantine for undesirable transfers of top players to the abroad, but now find their stock being parasited on from within by commercial rinks.

It's all still an experiment though, survival or commercial success isn't guaranteed at all, and perhaps child labour rules will prevent its further development?

For all order: I support Trusova's decision to change rinks if the Trusov's found the interests of their daughter can be better served elsewhere and couldn't come to an agreement with Sambo-70.

This program is definitely the best I've ever seen.

Interview with Sasha:

She says her SP is about spring, rebirth and the start of something new. In the FS, she‘s neither Romeo nor Juliet but represents the “evil fate of love“.
I like both concepts a lot and think her programs are pretty well thought out but I REALLY hope they remove that hip shimmy thing in the FS. It‘s distracting and honestly, quite awkward to look at. I was really into her performance yesterday and then all of a sudden she does this and I‘m like: WTF is she doing. I know this is the type of move Plushenko would have done but it doesn‘t fit Sasha AT ALL.

She also says that jumps are still her favorite elements but now she started to enjoy working on her general skating, too. She pays a lot of attention to it right now and is even doing extra lesson on choreography, presentation and skating skills.

Interestingly enough, she also mentioned that she skated in the dress they were preparing for the Worlds? So, I‘m guessing the plan last season was to go back to the red GoT costume?

Actually, I’ve already mentioned it, but Anna is really improving with Davydov. Her jumps under Panova were so small and almost barely done, I thought they won’t last few years down the road. Now they look quite a bit bigger and more confident, I have a great feeling about her going through puberty with better jumps. The coaching change seems to have really worked for her.
Davydov is a demanding coach (but very fair and caring) from what other skaters have told me.
He seems to be producing the results, but of course everybody's focussed on the podium skaters right now.

BTW did anybody else have to look away at the start of Kamila's program when she did the double jointed movements... just made me feel a bit... uneasy...

Frank, Koola King and other eteri haters already have material to insult Eteri for a month ... luckily Valieva did not cry in frustration at her failure as Trusova last year. If another site at this time is disgusting, the youtube thing is more than disgusting ... I have even read wishes that his girls injure their legs so that she does not have skaters to take to the nationals ... at that level her hatred reaches and envy...
This is over and over. Please explain to this person that this is a figure skating forum. For hate there is spors.ru:palmf:

I actually really liked that part. Looks so cool and unusual, she clearly has a lot of flexibility in her shoulders&arms too.
Read back on some of Kamila's interviews where she says 'I have been stretched well (in rhythmic gymnastics)'

This kind of flexibility probably comes natural to her. Still, like with every other skater, her health is her most valuable asset.
Daily exercising, stretching, strength training, proper warm ups and cool downs, iron discipline are needed.

This is one of the reasons the children are in enrolled in specialised sports schools for children and youths like Sambo 70.
No commercial rinks can match their experience, resources and specialism. If a commercial skater gets injured, hopefully he/she is well insured and the rink has liability coverage.

Even with the mistakes, I still think Kamila should've been above both Sasha and Daria in PCS, and by a bigger margin than the scores, too. Even if you don't look at the extension and lines, her control over her body and the range of movement are beautiful. She's also very expressive and musical in her body, but she needs to work on her face. There's a lot of comparison between her and Alena regarding their skating skills but they're better in different areas. Kamila's crossovers generate so much speed, and she doesn't lose speed, especially in her turns. She's the fastest and best at maintaining her speed. Her ice coverage stands out. Alena, in comparison, loses speed and her turns can be choppy, but where she excels is the smoothness and depth of edge, where as Kamila has more shallow edges. Either way, they're both ahead of the field. But, Nastia Tarakanova is the only one I can think of that has great crossovers, speed, turns, and edges.
Unless you are specifically talking about the most recent season for which we don't have any answer, it just isn't true. Aliona was shown to have the most distance covered per simple steps compared to all Russian skaters, including Tarakanova.

Something I noticed in Kamila which she does much better than others is twizzles.

Yeeeah I've put Edwin on ignore, bit I looked at that post and wow.

Once again I feel I must ask, did Plushy run over your dog or sell you a really crappy car? What is your problem with him? I've never seen anyone so hateful to a person they don't even know! (Donald Trump excepted)

And Sasha is very happy at the Academy, she looked miserable with Team TUT last year. If you love Eteri so much perhaps you need to go join her school. Just make sure you have all your triples or she won't give you the time of day.
I believe he will be more hateful if Sasha is going to beat ET's skater. He was out of this forum probably he was in further training in sports.ru forum.

OMG I totally just watched Plushy's Bolero not two minutes ago. That program was the absolute bomb, one of my faves!

Anyway, I think Sasha has been making changes, she uses her arms more (armography for the win ;) ) and she doesn't look as bent over in her jumps. She also seems more confident, although I suppose this could be chalked up to this new season being like a complete reset as much as Plushy's influence (after all you could never accuse Plushy of not being confident  Even at 13 he acted like he owned the rink when he completed.)
One of her biggest improvements is SPEED. She was flying across the ice, and didn’t lose speed in her step sequence. If we compare to her SP program last season, she was almost stopping at the step sequence.
There’s also more attention to the choreography, and although the movements are not yet fully extended/finished, she’s listening to the music. We still need a little more polishing in the movements and more facial expressions, but who doesn’t see the improvements should watch her last season.

True! I wasn't really able to out my finger on what was different with the step sequences aside from the armography, but you're right.

Is she doing less transitions, I wonder? Probably but I don't miss them :p

Were they inspired by Le Petit Prince’s Snake? I thought about it yesterday. Although I wouldn’t like to have a snake’s tongue pointing to my... you know what I mean. I still think this costume does her no favors.

Last season Sasha's StSq was level 4 internationally, this year it's level 3 nationally. Big improvement.
Choreography is of great legacy -
