Very controversial take, but I give credit for Sasha's quads and triple axel to Sasha herself first and foremost. She's one of the most extraordinarily gifted jumpers of all time, no matter who is coaching her or holding the harness for her.

And it was most likely Mikhailov who did all the work, skating after Aleksandra in the harness while she jumped, fell, jumped again, and again and again. Plyushchenko's titanium spine? Yet he unashamedly steals his staff's credit and their contracts are probably drawn up precisely like that.
Well, you are right about Mikhailov's credit! But at the end he is working and representing the Academy. Also, the theoretical input on technique, such as whether the rotating position was achieved fast, doesn't require you to be the one on the harness. I think we can give the credit to Pluschenko here, without neglecting the whole coaching team behind him.

Plyushchenko's veiled threats and insults, holding back the sh*t because he thinks of himself as a nice person? How are FFKKR, judges and other trainers going to respond to that? No doubt there is a likewise heap of sh*t to be thrown back at him.

For judges it will hard to remain objective in evaluating the routines, because there will be more scrutiny on the judiciary than ever before.

Which might actually be a good thing, more objective judging and less drama. We'll see next weekend in Sochi, no audience, limited press.

Tickets to Rostelekom Cup have gone on sale.

Can we expect a sell out in record time?

Plushyfan, we have been fighting a lot during the past days, but in this particular discussion I was stating exactly the opposite to what you understood. I gave credit to Pluschenko for Sasha's 3A and 4Lo. It sounds as a small achievement, but I am sure this required countless hours of work. I still consider Evgeni a great choice for Sasha for her technical abilites. I see (positive) changes in her technique, but not in her artistry. And I also tried to explain that, in my opinion, the latter is not to be blamed on any (old or new) coaches.
I will be totally honest.. 🤫 I don't read every Plushenko haters's posts exactly. For example I read Edwin 's post just superficially but I don't want to ignore him totally because I want to check and correct him if it need. I want to apologize to you (y)because I read only your post's first sentence and some other sentences..... (I'm cooking during the discusson. :tantrum:This is the sunday lunch what is really important in my culture.) From that seemed you denied their work as I read in many posts on IG for example.
Sorry, again...

So Plushenko is right to call out the nonsense whenever it happens, and it's not the only one who does this.
Thank you. I was surprised when I read the critics they pretended Plushenko would have been the first coach who complained because of the unfair judging. And it was really important in this special situation!!! He did his job.

Well I wouldn't say this is controversial, after all Sasha is the one who does the jumps and whilst she wouldn't have been able to learn them without coaches to show her how, she's definitely the one who does the lion's share of the work.

She's definitely the Quad Queen :)

Yes, and has a very determined personality to match the potential

sure...Eteri gave her everything and Trusova didn't work anything during the 5 months at all. :p
She grew a lot, she became more feminine, the center of gravity shifted completely elsewhere.... They overcame this we can say Sasha overcome the puberty succesfully . They have changed the technique a bit, etc...All of those are Eteri's results!:palmf: How ridiculous is this!

Hi, Im sorry Im not trying to say that Trusova did not made any improvements within the last 5 months but what specific and visible improvement she actually made that warrants her getting higher PCS even with a fall in your opinion?

You mentioned her growing and becoming feminine( I assume you are talking about her body) but that does not improve SS. You mentioned they change her technique, so can you cite what technique you are talking about?

People will not stop arguing if she deserves or not a higher PCS until someone actually come out and show a specific why they are right.

What was visible to me was that she actually scaled down in transition which in my opinion works well because it can improve stamina and maintain speed as the program finishes to the end. Some might find it regressing but for me it is a good strategy because as long you strategically place it well throughout the program then that is great. I honestly prefer this over busy transition

As you already know PE & IN is very subjective thus scoring this can vary but for me her SP is so much better that her LP.

SS I honestly didn't see big improvement.

We have to remember that she fell/ wasnt flawless on both programs, it was her first outing of the season and that things will improve from here on.

My prospect for Trusova is really big and positive and i think she is the one to beat right now in Russia.

In the meantime, 9 year old Yelena Kostyleva, who has shown so much promise, but is pushed by her ambitious mother from rink to rink is competing: http://almaz.host1810548.hostland.pro/ , but no live stream.

She has won yesterday's SP with 49.73 for 3F, 2A, CCoSp3, StSq3, 3Lz<+2T, LSp3

Today is free skating competition.

Currently, she is training in Ice Forum, another commercial club:

Seems like #работаемдальше is a popular tag these days

Me too! She’s a champion and a star. Her presence adds so much to skating. That’s my biggest wish in Russian Figure Skating right now.
I hope it will happen in a few weeks and Evgenia will be back. It wouldl make her fans happy and it would calm the waters here in RLT and people would focus more on figure skating then the coaches and we need that.

You think Evgenia coming back to competition, for the first time since her switch with Eteri nonetheless, would calm the waters??? Where were you the last couple of years?

No, seriously, I’m pessimistic about her coming back this season or anytime soon. She’s badly injured and she’s rushing back to training while still not even remotely healed. I’m sure she wants it but it just doesn’t seem realistic to me anymore.

Indeed! There's so much history there... Opinions will be strong. It'll be hard for anyone to be objective, I think.

It's sad to think of Zhenya's career fizzling away :( She deserves a triumphant last skate, she's given so much, not just with programs, but appealing for Russia to be able to attend the 2018 Olympics.

I have learned not to count out Evgenia despite her obstacles. And have to really respect her determination and will to continue despite the challenges she faced/facing.

The moment I saw her at Skate Canada when she first showed up w/ Orser and how she skated there I was so sure she was done but she kept going and going. Expected to withdraw in some events to avoid certain rivals but kept showing up even though loosing. Was so sure she will not make Worlds team but won the bronze and then the pandemic happened.

It is probably a combination of luck & determination but hard work definitely payed off for her.

At this point I dont expect anymore from her just that Im happy she is fighting for something she loves.

it is a bit premature but i have a feeling it will be her, Shcherbakova and Trusova that will be going to worlds.

Hope Valeriya does well in the next stage, and qualifies. The more or less definite list of contestants should be known by now.
Travel plans need to be made, tickets booked, etc etc.
