Merited trainer of Russia Inna Goncharenko gave her opinion on yesterday's short program:

“ After I found out that Anya Shcherbakova had withdrawn due to illness, I had a strange premonition, I became sad. It often happens that when one of the leaders is removed, the rest of the top participants seem to lose some of their courage, how many cases like that were seen in the men's skating. It would seem it is like - go out and win, but only these thoughts do not leave you and eventually lead to mistakes, as happened with Trusova and Tuktamysheva "

“ Sasha has matured all by herself and has become a real adolescent, despite the fact that last season she was still a real child. I won't argue whether she is moving up or not, because so many people, so many opinions, but she is definitely developing! Before that, much was said about the fact that she lacks some kind of femininity, lyricism, trepidation, that in her programs Trusova is a more of a militant conqueror.

In her current program Sasha learn, tries, every time she feels the program better and better. As a result, this program also develops her, a young athlete should always move forward in all directions, because where else to go? "

“ It seems to me that Trusova just burned out, because she is constantly chasing this jump. She needs to let go of this situation a little, only when the jump is completely ready, insert it into the program. I've already watched the competition: she is a little fussy about it, the moment has not yet come to jump it, but she is already doing it, then the strange arrangement of the element ...

Her coach, of course, knows better, but I have a feeling that the element is not ready, and Sasha takes it on, wants to do it on character and on emotions. And then everything coincided, racing after jumps plus the final start number. As soon as Trusova begins to treat the triple Axel calmly, like her other jumps, the quadruples, she will definitely do it at competitions. "

“ It all depends on how often Tuktamysheva 'gets' this quadruple jump in training. She has the most experienced coach who knows best how to best approach the difficult elements. It is not for nothing that this jump is not yet under her command.

It is more important for Lisa to do three triple Axels in two programs. She should not jump over her head, it is better to skate the program in the mood, cleanly perform her high Lutz. That would be the real Lisa.

By the way, she's a great fellow, she worked on the spins, the levels went up, more interesting positions appeared, it's not easy - to pull a Biellmann after a back injury "

Skaters and coaches work togheter every day. They're like family. Keeping them parted at k&k is just show.

Skaters do warm up togheter in a closed room.
that's probably the most dangerous situation between them, more than a little embrace without a real kiss on the podium, even if I think it sould be avoided because it's important to send "keep social distance" messages within people outside of your closest circle.
I would like to say to offer them separated spaces for warmup, but this one thing easy to say that may turn impossible to do (it really depends on the venue). I just hope it's not approached with a "who cares" attitude.

I'm more worried about the workers at the events who enter in contact with the skaters.
That should be limited to the maximum extent.

I did not see the press conference.
I hope it is individual or they are seated at safe distance, otherwise is just poor organization.

That practice video tells me that Trusova has continued to practice her skating skills. I'm really impressed with her taking ownership like that.

I know there was criticism of her costume because people didn't think it was fitting her athletically, and I hope that's been fixed. I do think it looks cool though.

Agreed, and again look at the other sports, no masks during competition but rather more tests before and after to make sure everyone at the event is negative.

If a coach is positive, chances are his/her skaters are too cause they work together every single day.

Masks is only useful towards the others athletes and workers, but during warmup it actually can make the communication between coach and athlete difficult.

FFKKR is bringing the infections on themselves and will have to live with more and more skaters and staff getting infected, having to sit in quarantine or worse, fall ill.

There is a difference between being stubborn and proud over holding an event under a worldwide pandemic or being smart and cautious and show you take it seriously and show uniform adherence to all measures and rules.

We'll see how it evolves over the coming weeks, leading up to Stage 5 and the National Championships.

During warm ups at the boards, the coaches and skaters breathe directly in each other's faces, at that moment protection is the most important.

Cursed Child is only great seen live. I also did not like it when I read the play, but when I saw it in theater it was amazing and I went back another time and hopefully next year will be my third time seeing it (lol). It is meant to be seen live :)
I heard that it's better live haha. But even still...it seems like fanfiction and not the good fanfiction haha. But I hope you have fun seeing it :)

Yes, the story is more like a fanfiction, I have read better continuations of HP by fans. I personally do not take the story as canon, but I think the play was entertaining especially the effects they used.

If ISU wants to keep up this farce of GP (that in my opinion is just sinking the GP reputation done like this year) international rules shoud be enforced.
If I was the ISU I would have stripped the rank and GP regulations from the GP events and let the organizers free to create the best possible show with what they had (e.g. the skater living/training near enough be part of it).
That would be a better way to promote skating, and skating really needs to be promoted (excep maybe in russia and japan)
you hit the nail on the head Mac and I wish I had written what you wrote. Especially how and this aberration of the season the isu should have lets the GP events invite who they wanted locally. There won't be a Grand Prix final this year and that's always a really good event.

Now there are rumors that Zhenya has Coronavirus. I wonder about Anna since she's sick and they train at the same facility. I keep thinking this year can't get any worse but it does.

The good news is athletes that get coronavirus Shake It Off seemingly much easier than if they had pneumonia or bronchitis. we have a lot of NFL football players and college football players in America get in coronavirus and they're back playing in a week or two and Shake It Off like it was a cold.

According to some Telegram channel, Yevgeniya Medvyedeva was found infected with covid and is now sitting at home in quarantine.

Waiting for a more official report and confirmation.
I hope Zhenya shakes it off fast. Now she's going to give her back and body a rest. 😒😷 Now I wonder what Anna is really sick with.

Sofia S's SP is also such a revelation! I love when skaters try unique styles, and even more when it works!
Those kind of experimental and original programs is how the sports evolve.
Some may work, some may not but a stale would bring it down in the end.
I don't mean it sohuld be copied or that more traditional programs would disappear, but that some of the new things will mix into the old consolidated ideas to give us better skating
