Well as difficult as it is to accept the way Plushenko has gone about this, if he's can bring about less biased/corrupt judging then I'm all for it.
Plushenko is trying to fight judicial lawlessness alone. Who else but he knows all the intertwining of corrupt interests among the functionaries of the Russian FS. He tries to protect his athletes from favoritism and arbitrariness, which is seen by everyone who has no blinders on their eyes. Let's see where this leads. I think that nothing will change for the better. Too tight tangle of mutual selfish interests binds the functionaries of RUSFED. This is a feeder that they would never want to lose.
For reference. On the eve of the championship, the Russian company Gazpromneft became a sponsor of the Tutberidze Team (not individual athletes, but the coaching group).

TBH I can't tell any jump that's not an axel apart very easily. So I actually had no idea Sasha had a flip issue.

Apparently she does, and you're right it should have been called all along, but until now it never was.

Why is that? I can tell you why, it begins with "P" and ends in "O". Claiming it's a coincidence, I don't think so.
If I look at her Flip in the SP at Europeans, because that is the nearest competition before the move, IMO the edge is fine inside, so no reason to call it. Again, it's only about being angry about some possibly wrong calls and ignore others that don't fit into the narrative. It's complete cherrypicking and that's not worth of time.

LOL:rofl: The edge cannot be seen in this video. Please stop looking funny))

What video recordings? Skating performainces in slow motion so they can review underrotations, edges and even excessive pre-rotation or video recordings of the briberies? Both?!? :D
I assume he is planning to dispute edge call, and/or the GoE for Scherbakova’s rotation and Usacheva’s SS. He probably should have waited till after FS, but if he truly believes that the call was unfair, he should do it.

To be frank the judges mostly do not look like retires. At least they didn't look such way before the competition. :)

Well, I expect Daria’s SS score to go up then, if it will be up for review!

Well, if he truly believes that the call was unfair, they should do it before FS to try to avoid repeating the same mistakes when judging FS in case he proves right. :)

You're right because I really couldn't see what Sasha's feet were doing there?

Sometimes I think I can recognise a Lutz but only if it has an old school long glide in, but at the moment of the jump if the edge goes in I won't know unless they do one of those slow-mo replays and sometimes I still miss it!

But wait did Sasha have a flip issue before? Or not? I'm confused.

In further unpopular opinion, I thought Anna's step sequence was totally lacking, it seemed super slow? I mean if we're just comparing hers and Sasha's today I'd definitely give Sasha the edge.

So?... AoP got sponsored by a building company earlier this year, not individual athlete, but a coaching group. Does it mean anything?

He might not be going about it politely but IMO it’s good that he’s being so vocal about this. There’s blatant favoritism happening and that’s never going to change if everyone just accepts it quietly because “that’s just how things are”. Will any change come from this? Probably not, but there’s a much better chance of something happening than if he said nothing like every other coach.

I really hope Anna withdraws but it sounds like she won’t. She could seriously damage her health here and all for a competition that is nowhere near important enough to do that for.

Now Eteri has a serious defender. Gazprom. It will be harder for Plushchenko to attack her team and use monetary leverage such as coaches' salaries or ice time. A clever move by Gazprom could be an attempt to re-buy the coaches of Plushchenko's academy or bring back Trusova. Plushchenko is all about money, not values or loyalty. If you have a lot of money and are willing to spend it, even Plushchenko himself can be bought...
Personally, I would like to see Plushchenko become an Eteri for the boys. That would benefit Russian figure skating a lot more than all these scandals.

Daria should be called for her edge, but she should also get higher PCS, cause her SS, TR were one of the best in the competition.
PCS wasn't part of the discussion there but alright. Daria stumbled twice in her program. That should be reflected in a PCS drop since there is no deduction otherwise. Hence I believe her PCS was correct this time.

I will try to explain. AoP is a commercial project that combines several coaching groups and infrastructure. The Tutberidze team is one class at the state free sports school. Try to figure out the difference.

Excuse me? Plushy is one of the most loyal people out there, he stayed with Mishin for over 20 years, gave absolutely everything (to the point of possibly paralysing himself) to Russian figure skating.

Do you know why he wanted to win so badly when he started skating? Not for fame, but to support his family who were desperately poor.

He may be arrogant, he may be annoying, you can hate his personality and his skating all you want, but how dare you say something like that when it's not even close to being true.

Protip: if you're going to slag someone off at least get your facts straight.

If any of you really think companies care about dramas and coaching changes, you either never worked in a company or seriously naive....

Marketing department doesn’t care about any of this stuff. If Tutberidze has suddenly 0 media attraction, you just move on and sponsor someone else, and use up the previous partnership with some posts or something.
Trust me on this, I worked with media people. The results also don’t matter for companies quite frankly. If the athlete has media presence, that’s what matters.
If it doesn’t work, no company will not care for the athlete, they just pick themselves someone new. Luckily, there’s a sea to choose from.

The question was the sponsorship of the athlete vs the team. Hence the question - how does that make a difference? A company can choose to sponsor an athlete, or, if they feel like they could get a higher reach, they can sponsor a team.
Both got sponsorships, should companies care if they‘re sponsoring a state-funded team from a private school or a state-funded team from a non-private school?

I specifically mentioned SS and TR here. Those should be higher, because she demonstrated the highest level on this competition. Which PCS criteria should drop because of the stumble? Her StSq levels got dropped already, so that mistake was already taken into account in her score.
The reason I’m mentioning PCS, is because comparatively to Sasha and Liza, she has shown a higher level, but wasn’t rewarded for it. Hence, the uncalled edge effect was negated by her getting lower pcs.
