What I'm really interested in: Do you really believe this tearful and emotional greasy comedy in three acts? First a sudden pneumonia (without Covid of course) during the final training at the CoR. Then skating on the verge of collapse in the SP with the channel 1 microphone turned up to 200% for excessive breathing noises and openly presented smelling bottles. At the end than the triumphant victory through a divine transformation from the weakened sick person to the radiant champion who is suddenly able to do things that he was not able to do before in a cheerful state? And all the tears from Eteri, Daniil and then Yagudin too! A Christmas fairy tale. Indeed. It is a shame that in the end it was not possible to implement the script one hundred percent (in the film material of Channel 1 there was more Dasha to be seen than Sasha), because the traitor skated better than expected and even the bought judges had no way to push Sasha under Dasha. Well, maybe next time.
What is up with your hate for Anna? So in your opinion - she lied about pneumonia, covid, being out of breath in the SP, and her amazing performance in the FS, what else? Anna gave an interview where she explained the timeline of her illness, how they came to the conclusion that it was pneumonia.

It’s crazy how she’s trashed for skating poorly, skating well, being healthy, and being sick when she’s never done or said anything problematic to give any indication that she’s this huge liar who created a story so emphasize her win. And her ex teammates have always said good things about her so I have no idea where this narrative comes from.

The rule about only the winner being guaranteed a spot is there likely because federation doesn’t want Makar to go to worlds instead of Aliev or Danielyan, who are more likely to score higher, but weren’t present at Nationals.
a) worlds won’t happen
b) if they were to happen, I’m sure Sasha would go either way, the only thing in the air is the third spot in ladies.

Photographers asked Sasha, Anna and Kamila to recreate 3A annual funny photo, but Sasha and Anna said they couldn’t, since Aliona wasn’t there :(

Aliona is clearly touched by this:
I still think it's nice when everyone is friendly to one another. And I'm not blaming Anna, frankly, either. She is forced to play the game if she wants to stay at the top. I think the FFKR policy sucks. In general, the Russian FC seems to me to be nothing but one large swamp of interest groups. The athletes are just game pieces, nothing more. Sometimes I wish that Sasha would throw the skates in the corner so that, as her fan, I don't have to go back to this swamp and can turn my back on it all.

We really can't deny that it was simply magnificent. I totally agree with both Phil and Johnny. Yeah of course there are things from the scoring that I don't agree, but I can't deny that this was THE BEST FS in the history.
But I wish they would score the skaters more realistically and based on ISU standards at Russian Nationals. GOE were too high, wrong edges were generously overlooked and giving a 14year old 76 points for PCS is Science Fiction. I don't know if it makes the kids happy to receive these scores knowing that it would have been 20 points less at an ISU competition?

How can they be happy after a skate at an ISU competition where each of them would score 20 points less?

TBH they're fully aware that this is a score they get at home, and not in an international competition. As long as they're satisfied with their skate they will mainly not be upset over their score being lower. Yes, they can be sad if they don't win, but that's a different matter. :)

“Figure skater Anna Shcherbakova performed in the short program at the Russian Championship with a temperature of 38 degrees, reports journalist "R-Sport" Anatoly Samokhvalov.

Shcherbakova, who won the tournament, had her temperature measured before warming up for the short program on December 25. It turned out that the athlete had a fever. Coaches offered to withdraw Anna, but she went back on the ice and won the short program.

The next day before the warm-up of the free program Shcherbakova refused to take her temperature.

It is reported that since late November, the figure skater has been running a fever in the evenings. Before the Moscow Grand Prix in November Shcherbakova became ill - an examination showed pneumonia, she tested negative for coronavirus - it is likely that she had been infected earlier.

Shcherbakova won the Russian Championships in Chelyabinsk, her third consecutive gold at the national championships.“

I‘m sorry, but this is insanity.

Already posted: Anna skated with a fever (38) in short.
And although I can share quite a lot of your feelings regarding the position of the federation, saying that Anna's illness was invented goes a bit too far. The weird change of condition and sudden losses and surges of energy happen quite often, I hope you express this disbelief because you didn't experience it yourself.

Besides, as it seems to me, the emphasis in the federation's plans is on Kamila, not on Anna, so to design such a conspiracy with faking an illness has no sense at all, sorry.

Yes it is very dangerous. I can’t believe her coaches or her parents did not withdraw her.

ISU standards are too vague. Haven't you read what Jeroen Prins explained about applying different standards in competitions? He very clearly said that every international competition can be different. This is actually much worse than national inflation, which, as I see it, is the way of national federations to tell ISU who their 1-2-3 are. Of course adding that ours are the best! 😁

There’s a reason why federation wants to bet on Kamila, I think in this regard she’s in this position for a reason.
She’s a skater without any major flaws: she doesn’t have any edge problems, unlike many others in the Russian team, hence she is not going to be dinged with edge calls.
She is also a full package skater, with big jumps, skating skills and artistry.
Additionally, she has 3A and a 2 quad free skate. Adding one 3A in the short and one in the free would be enough to beat Rika, the biggest rival of Russian girls on the international scene.
Moreover, there’s her incredible extension and spins, that add something extra to her, making her stand out.
So overall she’s the safest bet going into Olympics, and it is completely understandable why federation would want to have Kamila go to Olympics.

38 degrees fever. Did you see the thermometer? Parents and trainers let skate with 38 degrees SP and just don't measure before FS? Hasn't it been explained in detail here in the forum how intelligent and responsible parents and coaches are? And what about the pneumonia, which TT said was temporarily bronchitis? Don't bother me with all these dubious statements.

As for Kamila and Anja. The focus is on Kamila in relation to the Olympics, in relation to worlds the focus is of course clearly on Anna.

To spare a not so well functioning Anna and to remove her from the Rostelecom Cup in order to avoid Sasha and at the same time calmly prepare her for the Nationals, where you would have an additional reason if she is not in top form, definitely makes sense.
Nobody could have guessed that Sasha would collapse after two wins.
