How and why would she go against an Olympic champion and very likely idol of hers. Adelina basically ended her career at age 18 because of a torn ligament in her ankle that required surgery.

Sam is just very confident that the 3 Russians will take the podium. He knows Rika and others probably why why will be a podium contender as well.
Disagree, I feel like for the most part in the 3 member teams that someone usually underperforms; yes, the third Russian lady next year will be somewhat stronger technically than the third skater in years past but still I don't think underestimating Kihara or anyone else for the Olympics.
Yeah, nothing surprising, even Valieva's triple axel that was nice, but she's been doing the triple axel for the last couple of programs so everyone expected her to do it.

Anybody here can compare Anna's Nationals FS score to Kamila's FS score at this event? Kamila got 179 I believe

Kamila...that triple axel...wow. Maybe the best ever done. Still don't think the Bolero program does her skating justice, I think team Eteri can do better.
I think it must be difficult for other skaters in the world to watch the Russian ladies and pairs, but in the long run, it will motivate others to reach this standard. Or at least I hope so.
Four spectacular pair teams, and only three slots. Hearbreaking really.

Okay I see it was 183 Anna nationals, 179 Kamila today.
Taking into consideration both are equally outrageously inflated, Anna was perfect at Nationals, maxed out imo, Kamila had a bad 4T landing today so let's say she could get 2 points more on that... could Kamila end up overpowering Anna even in the FS?
Cause if so that's it, then the Olympic Gold depends solely on Kamila herself

Hmm thing is Anna only did 2 quads at nationals. She has one more to add to be back to full tech.
Edit: If we take Anna's FP from last year (181.94), give her 2021 PCS (+4 pts), make her 4F clean (+5 pts) and add this year's SP (80.31), she'd have a total of 271.25.

On 1 hand I agree with you - she's not landing them in competition and is this harming her confidence especially since she's not had a single clean FS this season, but on the other hand, she's not going to get to any big-time international competitions without a quad or triple axel so I can understand the logic of the "go for broke" mentality of trying the quad and having a shot that she lands it and podiums over going for a no-quad/triple axel program and having no chance. Trusova is a wild card on how she is going to do, so it makes sense for Khromykh to go for the quad if she lands it she has a chance that Trusova doesn't do well to be top 3.

And Valieva had a total of 270 at this fake competition now if I'm correct?
I honestly think she can go higher than that by rising her PCS and going totally clean, while I see Anna totally maxed out at your 271.25 best case scenario proposal
If she hits the 4F clean, she will get more than 5pts. She usually gets around 4pts of GOE on a cleanly landed 4F, so that's about 275pts in total.
But those are all "ifs"...I think mentally she needs a 3A, at least the ability to do it (she can choose not adding it depending on the situation).

When will Daria get the 3A?
Her 2A is so big and so good and all she needs is that 3A to become competitive with Anna/Sasha/Kamila.

I'd absolutely love that for her. She's such a good skater she should at least go down as a girl that was in contention for an Olympic spot, not just a second tier skater in Valieva's shadow
