Perhaps it's just strange seeing a less cluttered program... since Aliona's programs before were all very transition-heavy. I too, would like to see more transitions in the first half, but seeing her hold out landings is nice.

Tbh I'm a bit disappointed by Aliona's program. And I didn't like how her dress looked in motion. Such a pity, because Aliona is my second favourite figure skater among currently competing russian ladies.

Of course high quality skate by Aliona, but I can't say I'm impressed by the program. Today even Sasha with the preparations for quads gave more to presentation.

Well... better than her SP at least. Still, Eteri factor is missing, just like with Evgenia when she left.

I actually enjoy the StSq of Alyona's FS too, it's completely on the beat, it just needs a little more twizzles and some more difficult steps.

Better music, yes. Although compared to Billie E. even the sound of pneumatic drill is better

So after a side-by-side comparison I come to the conclusion that the coaching change definitely has done something for Sasha, but not so much for Aliona yet. Maybe it needs more time.

I have to say I expected a better program for Aliona considering how hyped up SLB is.

But I think with time it will get better. It was her first competition in like 10 months.

If Trusova becomes consistent and clean she is going to be hard to beat by anyone . She is like Nathan C when he first started - I guess time will tell if she keeps the jumps

May I ask what you mean by Eteri factor? (not trying to be mean or anything at all.. just curious)

If Sasha gains consistency with her jumps, everyone else can go home.

It will depend if and when Aliona will get her 3A back. She was always the PCS queen, but only the 3A made her the number one. Without it she will have a hard time fending off Sherbakova. And if Trusova manages to stock up on quads even further it's game over anyway.

I feel like Anna is slowly losing her quads - maybe I’m wrong - while Sasha seems to be getting better @ them - I guess we will find out @ Nats and the final with how she is doing with them too

Anna's quad flip is actually becoming better from stage 1 to stage 3. Not losing, improving. The only question is how her lutz looks like. She said the plan is two quads for Rostelecom, three for nationals. She's not "chrupka" as she said in the interview for the olympic channel
