Romsky's "My Olympic Experience" vlog; it's 32 minutes long! Topics include his paranoia about catching COVID-19 while on a crowded plane ride from Toronto to Vancouver, the overnight hotel stay in Vancouver and the chartered flight to Beijing being much more pleasant, the super-strict COVID restrictions in Beijing, the Opening Ceremony, the Olympic Village, how he felt about his competitive performances, and the freebies that he got as an Olympian ($7000 worth of clothing and accessories from Lululemon!).

Well done Mady! Warm up not great but you have the heart of a champion to pull it off when it counts. Top 10 def. in your reach but you skate for you, is all that matters. You've already proven yourself this year, as a future contender. Good luck to you!

Phew, I can breathe a sigh of relief; Roman qualified for the free skate in 18th place with his second-best SP of the season (80.54 points), and I thought it was cute when he exclaimed "I got a Q!" after he received his score in the kiss & cry.

It will take most of the day for me to download the archived livestream for the Men SP, so the only individual video of his performance that's available is from the Radio-Canada Sports YouTube channel:

I was wondering if he would display his Ukrainian heritage in some fashion at Worlds, and he did so by drawing the Ukrainian flag on his face mask. 💙💛😷

Well...it took a lot of withdrawals and a lot of other circumstances, but both Vanessa James & Eric Radford have another world medal...

doesn't matter what it took in the end :) it has happened ;) I don't want to downplay this medal because then, we would have to be fair and downplay all the other pair placements, i.e the other teams on the podium, the 6th place of W/M. Let's just enjoy it :)

Is Vanessa the first Canadian figure skater of African descent who won a Worlds medal for Canada? (I'm aware that she has another Worlds bronze when she competed for France.)

With Piper & Paul in 5th and Laurence & Nik in 8th after the Rhythm Dance, Canada is barely holding on to 3 spots for next year.

thanks to biased judging.. apparently the British judge put F/G in 4th place... that says it all...

People will say, it's okay, the highest score gets dropped... but it's not that okay.. (remember Sylvie Fréchette)
If the British judge's score is super high for his team, then his score gets dropped but the average gets shifted... and that makes it even worse if ever his scores for the Canadians are the lowest ( I didn't look into that)... because that would shift down the Canadian scores.

In protest, I suggest we bring back Waddell to Canada :) and that we ask F/G not to skate at IAM anymore :)

this is tongue in cheek... i needed to ventilate. 🤡

Canada got unlucky... Maddie did finish top 10 in the FP as well as in the SP but her total score was less than half a point shy of top 10 in total, which sucks for Canada... Only one woman again next year... The most unfortunate thing is that some countries did secure top spots they may not really need... or Belgium 3 spots which they really won't need...

I have not watched the skating yet... will do later
