Does anyone know if Clare Seo is scheduled to skate again? Her performances are one of my favorites to watch. I have been unable to find any information online.

i know she has a 2nd JGP just don't remember which one.

Lindsay has already skated in the SP today and is neck and neck with Petrosyan and Kim, they are all about 6 tenths apart.

she seems in a really good headspace. her head's not in the clouds but she knows her potential and trajectory. i'm not worried about the 4Lz, she doesn't really need it this season, and i'd much much rather her keep focusing on all the other aspects of her skating that are improving. i don't think a quad is going to be her ticket to a top 6 or 7 finish at the olympics.

That's one of the really interesting sections of this article (good work Phil Hersh)... how she and her coaches worked hard to change her whole approach to her jumps. Fans here and elsewhere have been very vocal about how Alysa's jump technique needed to change, so I think we should really celebrate that she did it! It's not easy to change technique, and it's even harder to make the new technique stick when you're in a competition, and the nerves can cause a skater to revert back to muscle memory of the old technique. Well done, Alysa!

Not only did she make those changes, but she made them in a relatively short span of time, when you consider her injuries since covid and a pretty significant growth spurt.

Alysa will be our top finisher at the Olympics.
And I know this can't be a consideration: But since the others are all bunched together, and the actual difference is negligible, I would rather see two new girls get the opportunity to go to the Olympics. Amber, Mariah or Lindsay. (longshot Gabby)

If Alysa ends up being as far ahead of the others as we think she will, it makes you wonder whether the USFSA will have her do both segments of the team event. With a 3A, she would be an obvious choice for the SP. However, if there is a big gap between her LP scores and those of her peers, it would be risky to use anyone else for that segment as well.

It looks like Lindsay is skating in Slovakia this week. SP is coming soon and I hope she has a great showing. I always wonder if it's scary for a young skater to be so far from home and the only skater from her country in the ladies event.

Lindsay placed third in the Short, becoming one of the few American women to score 70 in the Short. Additionally, Ava Marie Ziegler also represented the US women and placed sixth, landing all her jumps (huge 3Lz3T) but had her last combination spin invalidated. If Ava's last spin was not invalidated, she would have scored 62-64.

Is Lindsay already assigned to any Challenger? If the top women besides Alysa don't show up or struggle with injuries I wouldn't be surprised if Lindsay actually managed to get an olympic spot. She just scored 70+ points as a Junior. For comparison Mariah's PB is around 71 and Amber's around 67.

Is Lindsay already assigned to any Challenger? If the top women besides Alysa don't show up or struggle with injuries I wouldn't be surprised if Lindsay actually managed to get an olympic spot. She just scored 70+ points as a Junior. For comparison Mariah's PB is around 71 and Amber's around 67.

Can skaters compete in both the Challenger Series and the JGP? I figured her team would just sign her up for a Senior B at some point

Yes they can! Seoyeon Ji did two JGPs and recently competed at Autumn Classic as a senior, so Lindsay could definitely do it as well. Only thing that changes is that they'll have to add a choreo sequence to the free skate since juniors don't do one, and if she's planning on competing at senior nationals again, she probably already has a senior version of the program ready.

I don't necessarily disagree, but unless Bradie/Amber/Mariah consistently out-skate Karen this season, it'll be hard to ignore the fact that we wouldn't have 3 spots to quibble over in the first place without Karen's performance at Worlds.

Thanks! There are a ton of Challengers between this weekend and December that the GP circuit women likely won't attend, so it'd be great to see Lindsay assigned to one of those.

I mean sure but Bradie underperformed and was 9th... I don't think that'll earn her any favors with USFS.

Lindsey skated a lovely Short Program. I really like her understated not in your face performance. Beautiful jumps and she is a gem. Think she is a strong skater very well rounded.

All three of them have problems to jump clean 3-3 or other difficult combinations. I hope they don't go with the "body of work" argument for the o-spots because it simply not the smartes thing to send veterans with low tech abilities, injury prone and not known for good nerves when you have younger jumping talents not yet battling with puberty issues as alternative. Pcs were never a big factor at Olympics, most certainly they will be inflated for clean skaters. The three of them and amber can battle out the third spot but no more. maybe they can give them two spots for worlds to end their careers gracefully, if one or two are considering that, which seem very realistic.

Hold your horses, Lindsay isn't a clear number 2 yet. Bradie hasn't competed yet this season and Lindsay hasn't beaten Bradie's subpar performances at world's and WTT yet.

I dont know about the obvious #2 but Lindsay could definitely challenge for a spot on the team. However I do think being completely new to the senior scene, she would get less PCS or generous calls than the others, which is something the committee has to consider.

Is it just me or is Alysa totally getting lowballed PCS? Im not comparing her to anyone else in particular, but I look at that short program and think she should be getting the highest scores in performance, interpretation, and choreography. But she only averaged 8.1 in all those categories.

Very true, and watching today, her entrance is much better, so I stand corrected when I said her jumps were juniorish. Her program is so polished, not a step out of place, she obviously is a very hard worker, and she makes huge improvements from month to month.
