Good points, but I think number 3 is a little much at this point in her career. As I said, I do like her and think she will be number 1 in US. Skating is so subjective and outright corrupt that there is often a difference between what you see and what the judges tell you you saw. Especially right now in womens skating, you can be a great skater, but if you can't rotate super fast, you are in a huge disadvantage.

I agree about Lindsay. I have Alysa as a clear lock for the team. Even if she were to finish 4th, I think the committee would put her on the team. My team, if Bradie Tennell is healthy, would be Alysa, Bradie, and Lindsay. The Jury is still out on Mariah and Amber. With her 4th place finish at Worlds, I think Karen has a case if she's on the podium.

With clean 3A and quads, I agree with you. But right now she doesn't have those, so I stand by my statement.

Definitely, I'd say Lindsay is a dark horse for nationals coming up. She will be lacking senior international experience and we know that will hurt her in front of an international panel which might be a factor in selecting her to the team. Still, I could totally see her do like Polina Edmunds and get named to the team fresh off the JGP without any experience, especially if she can outperform the favorites. She'd have to be great though; her total score is well under 200 points as of now--193 at her last event. No clue what's going on with the JGPF (there are no rankings this year) but she may have a shot at the Final. If she goes and can increase her total score, hopefully to 200+, that should help her case heading into nationals. Of course inflation at nationals will help with that but it's all about momentum and skating cleanly.

? Not responding to the rest of that, but Karen + Bradie did earn three spots, with the third being provisional. Alysa had to go to Nebelhorn to confirm that provisional spot (because only two women represented the US at the Worlds 2021 LP, only two could be confirmed initially; the third had to be confirmed at Nebelhorn). Nothing to do with Karen's lack of a bronze.

Yes. You're right. Thanks for correcting me. I forgot we don't have 3 girls compete at the last World. But still.....if that fan's accusation hold true about USFS, USA should have a skater on podium at World every year.

No, that's not correct. They earned 3 spots for Worlds, and 2 spots for the Olympics + plus the opportunity to compete for a 3rd Olympic spot at Nebelhorn. That 3rd spot wasn't being held for the US, so it wasn't provisional. It wasn't theirs to confirm, despite a lot of people using that language. They had the chance to compete for one of the remaining spots, along with a bunch of other countries.
It's true that it wasn't about Karen's placement, though.
They were, or rather, they merged last season (only Worlds counted) with 19/20.
But it surely meant that the juniors potentially going senior this year had a huge disadvantage. Among them, Thorngren.

IMO she is the biggest hope for the US since Mirai was a youngster. Shocking how much she has improved in a short time. The most impressive thing to me is how she didn't let a major growth spurt derail her.

It's in the word 'confirm'. It makes it seem as if there was no real competition to 'get' that spot, it just needed to be confirmed. The Pairs competition showed for the Chinese pair that it was not a question of confirmation of something actually already settled, but that one actually had to place high enough. Not that it makes much difference in the case of Alysa. She placed 1st!
It's just a simple difference in use of language. "Confirm" to me doesn't mean there was no competition - rather they needed to actually go and compete and get that spot in the first place. My use of the English language will inherently be different from a Canadian's.
