This field is absolutely nuts--tougher than any previous Worlds or Olympics, IMO. According to Alaine Chartrand, SEVEN of the twelve women landed a 3A during practice today.

For context, only 14 women have ever landed a 3A in international competition...
SEVEN?!?

Alysa, Kamila, Liza, Aliona, Mana, Wakaba... Who's the last one???

So... If Karen manages anything higher than 8th here, then it's kudos to her. She's pretty much in a competition with only herself since she's just looking for that 208+ score. She might even do a Karen and score unexpectedly well since she has no chance in this field 🤣

Wow. Gracie almost made me cry. She has looked so miserable at every competition she's entered in the last few years. But here, she was smiling before she skated, at moments during the actual program, and after despite the fall. It genuinely lifted my heart to see her look happy.

Yes, but in fairness almost everyone's 3A ( except Wakaba's) looks a bit sketchy on the landing. Great expectations lead to great falls. I hope the women prove me wrong but if all of them go for 3As in the SP, it may be messy... Very messy.....

Karen's goal at SC should not be about medal. If Karen is placed ahead of Alysa at SC, Karen will be a lock too! Karen somehow always place in 4th place at "stacked" competitions. She may surprise us.

I'm still not a big fan of Alysa's SP and LP technical content. It's too ambitious and too risky. I hope she proves me wrong. I still prefer her Lombardia layout.
