Natalie D'Alessandro/Bruce Waddell have split

My goodness! That's another one I didn't see coming!

When Sasha and George's split was announced last week, I commented the following:

Something I wrote a five years ago has suddenly come back into my mind. The three Fear sisters all tended to make major changes in their sporting careers at the same time. To save me writing it out again, see the following post:

I really hope that they have grown out of this trend. Because Lilah and Lewis splitting as well would be a total disaster for British Ice Dance.

I was worried that the same thing might happen again now. Little did I realise that this time round it would actually be the Waddell brothers making major changes at the same time! :drama:

So sad to hear this. I really liked Natalie and Bruce. Does anybody know if they are both planning to continue, or if one or both are stopping to concentrate on their education?

Whatever their plans, I wish them both all the best for the future.

damn it... i was already thinking Bruce would be great with Bronsard... why can't I have my dreams last at least more than 5 seconds..... This is what is happening when following juniors... splits and retirements...

at the same time, who can blame them???? Look at the line up I posted about Canadian ice dance... Bruce and Natalie would come in ranked about 8th or 9th in senior... and then people whine about some disciplines in some countries being overcrowded??? It's the same everywhere in many sports by the way...

Exactly who can blame them. Especially how CAN dance teams were lowballed this year - so much so that we are down to only 2 teams for next years worlds. Yes they should have got invites to GPs next year because of their 2nd place at worlds but after that they would probably have a hard time to make it back to any major internationals. And look at LALA - they even won Jr Worlds yet they seem to be stalled as Seniors and have watched other newer teams pass them by.

Olivia Oliver and Joshua Andari (Polish Jr. ice dancers) have also split.

Olivia hopes to move to seniors with a new partner, Joshua wants to focus on his education.
Olivia has teamed up with Elliott Graham. He previously represented Canada with Olivia McIsaac, with whom he was a Canadian Jr. medalist and placed 12th at 2018 Jr. Worlds.

which country will they represent? Poland or Canada?
It was reported by a journalist from a Polish sports journal, so I assume Poland.
Her tweet (translated) says "Changes in Polish ice dance. Two promising duos ended their cooperation, but fortunately there was no stagnation in the training. Oliver and Bojanowski are already training with new partners"

The other skater mentioned is Filip Bojanowski, who was skating with Arina Klimova. He's now teamed up with Emilia Ziobrowska. They're hoping to compete in junior.
