Several skaters have paired up with a Canadian after an Olympics and been eligible to skate for Canada for the next Olympics. That includes Kaitlyn Weaver, Piper Gilles, and Lubov I. There seems to be a bit of a curse though, as none of these skaters were actually named to the Olympic team (though Weaver and Gilles represented Canada at later Olympics).

I'm happy for James/Radford -- they deserved to win silver in front of the poor fs and subpar sp by Miura/Kihara (who had been favored for gold had they performed well). Everyone has different expectations of athletes. It's their expectations and choices for themselves that matter in the long run.

But at least I had a fun time watching him while he skated. It was so wonderful to see him taking the crowd's support at Skate Canada 2019 and turning that into a silver medal.
And I'm glad to have given a pizza plushie directly to him after Skate America 2021, he was really excited to get it!
I really wanted Nam to do one more year too for himself. Sad that Montreal was cancelled. That was his last hurrah. He earned a spot to worlds and to end up weakened by Covid and trying to compete for an olympic dream that was over. He, Sandhu and Reynolds I think all rose to about no. 5 in th world and could never make the final leap Ditto for Keegan though his rise might be no. 6 only. So close but so far from a medal.

I have always loved and am very proud of Emmy's beautiful skating for Team USA. I'm glad she can now look back and be pleased with all she did accomplish despite a lot of struggles. I think she is highly intelligent and being very candid here. And I dont think her story is uncommon..we have heard stories like this before....I wonder how many other skaters I love have been through this meat grinder? What are we doing to our children? Some can take the meat grinder better than others, of course...some even thrive, or at least seem to. Articles like this make me hate figure skating alittle. And of course its not only skating. You GO, Emmy. Have a wonderful life.
