Olivia said a few months ago that she will probably not continue competing after this season because Adria set the bar very high for them, and he was going to most likely retire after the 2021-22 season.

I am wondering about Nathan Chen, Hanyu, Piper and Paul, Mariah, Karen Chen, Gracie Gold, Gabby Daleman, Tarasova and Morzov, Keegan Messing, MT M, James and Radford, kolyada, Jason Brown, zhou, S and K, our world champs KF. I think we are assuming Sui and Han and PC are gone.

Nathan has stated he is going to concentrate on school for awhile I believe. Think Vincent is retiring. As others officially announce their intentions it will be posted here.

Some of them are still on tour doing ice shows. I think there might be some more retirements, but maybe they are waiting until they are done with ice shows and had time to think and gather themselves before they make a statement. All though, i´m hoping i´m wrong.

i am not sure this is a thing or not, but I have noticed that skaters go on tours and then, announce retirement... maybe because they take time to reflect while being on tour, but I was also considering marketability of tours... some people prefer seeing "active skaters" rather than "retired from competition skaters" ... actually tours usually bring all time greats PLUS active skaters... So perhaps, this is a thing too... and also, something else, again with publicity and media : not announcing retirement during tour doesn't remove the focus that should be on the tour itself rather than on retirements of participating to said tour skaters...

... maybe i am just making this up in my head...

I´m thinking the same too, I don´t think you are making this up in your heard. At least I know this have been mentioned with Russian skaters as well because in Russia shows are really big.

Maddie had made an official retirement announcement that this was her last year.

Until yesterday, Adrian had made no announcement. People presumed because of wedding plans, but nothing official. :)

^^. This. And in an interview a few months ago, Olivia commented that since their goal was to win 2 spots at Worlds for Spain, they wanted to have 2 teams to send next year. So I was really hoping they'd continue. I also felt that they were hitting their stride this year, with programs that showcased them so well.

So I'm disappointed, but I'm really hoping Olivia will skate with a new partner. And of course, wishing Adrian and Madi all the best.

Wow. Y'all probably saw this when I was gone....pretty powerful stuff

This is a remarkably sensitive, intelligent article by Emmy Ma. It doesn't even surprise me much, because I only became aware of Emmy when she was a junior skater. I especially loved her expression and artistry. And then, something happened, and she didn't even seem like the same skater to me. In this article, she explains it all.

I channeled all of the frustration and pressure I felt into the pursuit of success. ...The dictionary defines success as “the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.” In the figure skating world, that definition of accomplishment is twisted with winning.

Chelsea Liu is another lovely skater who's said she hopes to be a coach who makes skating about more than just competition. Personally, I feel that this is the direction that figure skating needs to go, in order to retrieve fully all that figure skating is capable of being and inspiring.

Madi and Adrian aren't marrying until next year. She's going into coaching, Adrian probably as well (he hasn't really said).
I recall Madi saying at one point that she and Adria were going to move to his home country of Spain and start coaching. That's what I remember her saying, although their plans could be adjusted, or still in the working out stages.

Mikhail Kolyada said he is continuing.
Do you mean Sinitsina/Katsalapov with "S and K"? Alexander Zhulin said that they have not voiced a decision yet. He believes they are inclined to retire as they have achieved a lot but if they decide to continue he'll be happy to coach them.
Tarasova/Morozov - I have heard from someone from their coaching team that they are most likely done. But so far nothing confirmed. Evgenia got engaged last year and she said she was planning her wedding after the Olympic season (but didn't name a date or year).

Ooh a new ice dance center using the IAM method in Europe?
