Well, tbh, something I've noticed is that in a family where there is more than one kid who skates competitively, only 1 of them will achieve any real success and be competitive on a high level. I don't know why it's like that, and I'm sure there are some examples of skating siblings who could prove this wrong, but that's just what I've noticed with most. In the case of the Zhilina sisters, that sibling is Veronika. Alena is a lovely skater, but she is almost 12, and at her age, Veronika was already much more advanced.
