I would rate her at least above Tarakanova and Gubanova at this point.
And perhaps also above Guliakova, Samodurova and Nugumanova

I Think both Talalaikina and Konstantinova could be in that last group of thos who qualifies through the russian cup. There are just to many good 3rd tier Russian ladies for me to keep track of them all.

Olympic team won't be announced till like January, national team is usually announced mid to late May

I had one year of russian language as a 10 y.o. schoolboy 30 years ago but then the revolution came and the teachers who were now three lessons ahead of us started to teach us english. Fortunately I did not forget to read the cyrillic and with the interest for the figure skating I was able to gain some very limited abilities to understand russian (which is helped by the similarities between the czech and russian as the slavic languages).

Interesting. Here in the US, (at least in my school) we can take either French or Spanish. In first grade you take half the year French, the other half Spanish. Then you choose which one to take from 2-5 grade (elementary school). Then in 6th grade (middle school) you can either continue with French/Spanish or switch. You can also take Latin, which is separate. But, everyone must take either French or Spanish. In high school (9th grade) I believe it is the same thing again, French or Spanish, and then there are more additional languages, (Latin, Japanese, Mandarin, Russian, etc.) So you could spend about 11 and a half years learning either French or Spanish. But of course, here English is the main language.

Though, on average basic or high school the level of language education is not very high (specialized language schools are much better in that of course). As for myself, after the high school my english abilities were still low and the german ones were close to nonexistent (partially also because within the four years of high school we had five different german lectors). I learned english mostly at the university and above all thanks to playing computer games

As a native English speaker, I have to say your English is pretty great. Usually you can tell if someone doesn’t really know English, but if you hadn’t said anything, I‘d have guessed you were fluent.

Adding on to that.. the Olympic team is nowhere near decided yet. There are likely contenders, but the decision will be made after the National Championships (and possibly after Europeans). Nationals are in December and Euros are in January.

Same here but I considr myself fluent at this point (26yo) but maybe im deluding myself. On the other hand I consider reading a lot of english and watching youtube to be what took me from school level good to actually fluent.

There are defenetly a lot of things that we say in sweden that shouldnt be directly translated and it can sometimes be difficult to come up with a good alternative. But this is probaly true between any two languages

Tnank you. In fact I still fight with gramatics and spelling sometimes (sometimes I have to use dictionary to write words correctly, like "it there double L in this word or not?" ), but at least I think I am usually able to express what I really mean. It was a test for me to join GS because before I was not sure about myself in this (I had very little experience in active using of english, I mostly just read or listened). But the practise here helped me very much.

And if I may I think @Jontor's english is pretty good as far as I can judge it.
