It would be very bad if we couldn't see current juniors at JGP indeed... a sweep could be expected..

They announced Chelyabinsk as the next location for test skates right after Nats. The date is a real surprise. Does this mean that top skaters will miss Lombardia?And I was sure that it would be Megasport, Moscow
Is test skates really the first time the Fed sees the programs? If it isn't then missing test skates is not a big deal

I would expect them too! Alyona and Daria? They better show up at test skates! All the skaters on the team are the only ones capable of making the Olympics. Alyona and Daria are just as likely to make the Oly team as Tuk and Maiia, maybe even more so. And after them I can't think of anyone else deserving of performing at test skates or the Olys. There is a serious drop-off after those 8. Who else is there? Samodurova? Frolova? Oops I forgot Ksenia Sinitsina, who should have been the third reserve. But I would be shocked if Kost/Usa are not at test skates.

Reserves are Aliona and Liza Nugumanova. Daria is in the main team.
With reserves, there’s no rule that they should 100% be invited. Case in point, both Gulyakova and Samodurova were in reserves at some point, but Samodurova was invited, while Gulyakova was not. General rule of thumb it seems is if the reserve has international competitions in the upcoming season, then they’re invited.

Oops, my mistake! I would expect Alyona to be at test skates. She's probably the co-favorite for that third spot with Trusova ahead of Daria and Maiia and of course Tuk (I just completely forgot about her!!). No need for Nugumanova though. She can't even consistently land triple jumps.
Not at too great cost
Just imagine, for example, what if tomorrow Gorshkov decides that it's too quiet, everyone starts forgetting about figure skating and Russian drama and says:I mean - "сall Plushenko!". Well, no, it's better that we entertain ourselves in the summer lull with such innocent entertainment

Thank you. Since Russian Ladies are really the only interest I have right now, I didn't mind the vaccine thread drift because I was only concerned about how the vaccine issue will affect RL. But I can understand why someone who is interested in all events would find it tedious to get through this thread when all they want to know is, well, a quick checkup on Russian Ladies only.
