This is looking like Jason's year. I was impressed with Japan's Worlds team, but if Worlds happens, and it's Jason, Nathan, and Vincent, this is going to be an insane event.

Jason should be able to get bronze ( and maybe silver again) unless he has a total meltdown tomorrow. Big lead over 4th place.

Great men’s event. The only thing I need is Krasnozhon to be higher in the standings. I hope he’ll do well in the free.

I was actually most impressed by Zhou. That was the best I’ve ever seen him skate and he’s clearly been working on his skating skills. Naumov was also really great. He can make top 5 without a quad if he continues to skate like that.

Just seems like there is something wrong with the scoring system that just because you have a quad you can win over someone who is the absolute epitome of figure skating. Jason's tech scores should be higher because his skating skills are textbook. Need to put more weight on the execution of all skills with more GOE given not just on jumps. This is very frustrating that those with a quad can be bumpy and a bit messy on other skating skills and it doesn't seem to matter.

I am also supper happy Naumov looked way stronger!

Nathan said edge jumps are always tricky for him. Could have fooled me! HE's so strategic and he understands what his talent is and what his body is capable of! Wow. Nathan breaks it down with an academic's mind. Intelligence, passion, perfection.

Nooo - don't talk about Jason retiring - it's bad enough that Patrick's gone.

I think it is notable though that Chen literally did an extra rotation in his flip and his lutz.

If a skater back in the day a skater did a 2F, 2Z+3T, 3A while the top person did a 3F, 3Z+3T, 3A, even if they had Jason’s level of skating there would have been a considerable gap between them and the leader.

The PCS gap between them should have been wider but I think a 13 point margin isn’t too egregious given Chen did two quads and and Brown did none.
