PCS Should have at least been in the 28/29 range, but a point under Lindsay? Alina skates with a great deal of speed and polish at this point, all spins except the layback were great, Step Seq good enough, jumps except loop very strong and confident. I wonder if a message is being sent that of the two Russians, Gubanova is preferred for the Oly spot. I do feel she was low balled for what she put out on the ice today.

I don´t understand why judges should care about what skater from Georgia would be send to the Olympics. Maybe she could have 1-2 points higher in PCS, but given Gubanovas strong technical layout it would really not matter. If she wants to go to OG she can not have 3Lo as solo jump when Gubanova has her layout and skates clean. I think Gubanova can do all the things you are mentioning being Alinas strong side, and still have a more difficult jump layout.
