Deann's previous international wins were in 1999, so this has been a while coming.

Elsewhere, it looks like both Corey and Miku & Tyler are out of the Nepela Memorial for whatever reason, as Skate Canada's press release only mentions Marjorie & Zach (initially it also mentioned Corey). The others are still listed on the assignment page still, but I imagine that's a delayed update.

In the former he did only a 3-2 combination, in the latter he botched his triple Axel.
Well you talked about qs.
Clean is clean, even if he did all doubles.
~~
He also did get his PB there (yeah we know there was questionable judging in general - but still)

Congrats to Keegan! What a comeback. His two 4T were huge…. Also, Roman, it was going well until the fall on the 4S on the second half, then the complete miss on the spin and low level spins and the popped jump. Sigh….. but, congrats on the bronze medal.

Also, Deanne and Maxime….. wow! Their breakthrough performance. I’m so happy for them. Canada 🇨🇦 with two gold medals. They must love Germany.

Deanna and Maxime have to be considered Canada's No. 1 pair this year. I was pleasantly surprised with just how good they looked at Nebelhorn to win it. I thought the last couple of years they were maybe a bit underrated as Skate Canada seemed to give preference to younger teams, but I think they've seen the wide open door this year and are charging through it. They look great.

I like Keegan's new programs. That first quad at Nebelhorn was butter. Roman looked surprisingly good (particularly in the short), as he is not normally an early season skater — at all. The long was a bumpy ride. He went out with such attack, but it came unravelled after the fall, then the pop, then the miss on the spin. Still, not bad for early season. Most of the men here were pretty messy. The only sort of clean one was Keegan, hence why he won it by a mile.

Go Maddie! Can't wait to see what she can do.

Looks like it was a good finish in ice dance for the Canadians, great for them!

But a disastrous FS for Maddie. Ouch.

Actually only the SP is new (so far).
Roman should have 2 new programs but the free was maybe not ready yet?
As he himself perhaps cause he missed some training time during summer due to covid.

Still, a very successful Nebelhorn: 2 Golds, and two Bronzes. I am sad for Maddie but I am sure she will get better during the course of the season!

I see that Kaiya Ruiter is registered to compete this weekend at a domestic invitational competition in Airdrie Alberta in Senior Women. Fingers crossed she does not pull out. It looks like there will be live streaming.

Oh! Wonderful, I like me some Canadian Livestreams in the middle of the night :party2:

Is Amelia Orzel related to Conrad?

A good day in the rhythm dance for our teams, with Nadiia & Peter and Marjorie & Zach leading the fields at their respective events.

L/L's program is fun, while we know they went back to the more serious style for the free dance.
