Lydia has been competing non stop in moscow this season, im happy she got an assignment after all!

That's the kind of program that i want to see more in juniors. A bit weird and really fun. Love the concept.
Superb costume (and the costume change was smooth).

This is definitely not her best performance of the season, combo didn't work out as planned and she finished behind the music

She has been competing non stop, this is her 5th comp of the season in 2 months, so I have watched her a lot and she can do so much better than here.

Russian juniors definitely compete way more than seniors. I feel that they compete every two weeks.

Tbh, I wasn't completely convinced of this program at Test skates, but Sofia sold it really well here The step sequence is so much fun

Her behaviour in the K&C is giving me big Kosto-vibes, they seem like they would be so fun to be around.

Anna Lyashenko's program is quite interesting, shame about the fall on the Lutz, she did a wonderfully explosive 3Lz+3T during the warm-up.

She is. Some skaters (like Anna Lyashenko, who is coached by Yulia) choose to continue representing their old club/region in order to more easily qualify for the Russian Cup/novice nationals. Another example is Daria Sadkova who trains under Team Tutberidze but still officially represents Mari El and not Moscow.

Another example is Daria Sadkova who trains under Team Tutberidze but still officially represents Mari El and not Moscow.

Ive always been so conflicted over this practice its smart but at the same time kinda takes opportunities away from skaters who cant move to moscow for better coaching team and more ice time.

she has been attending a lot of moscow local novice and junior comps with her students, during the 20-21 season it looked like she was retiring but I guess she changed her mind sometime last season.

Good strategy. Moscow is too stacked.

It's kind of like the same issue as the practice of changing countries, just at a national level.

Stronger regions do get more spots in the Russian Cup series and at novice nationals, but not necessarily in relation to how much stronger the region actually is.

I wonder how the spots are decided. I don't think that there are regionals and sectionals like in Japan and USA. Is it just political? Or based on nats results?
