That’s too bad. I already had seen her twice. Wished it was someone new.
How long before CAN has to name the TBA pairs teams for Skate Canada? Are there any other upcoming events with pairs for them to choose from? And who there still in the running - or might one of these spots be given to another country?
Also just noticed that in both of Roman's GP assignments there is a 2nd CAN man. Wonder if this will push Roman to skate better so he comes out as the top CAN at these events. After all these two are ones who can beat him when Roman is having an off event.

I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE KEPT MY SKAM TIX!
I held on to them for awhile after it was announced (unconfirmed) that Brendan was withdrawing but gave them up a week ago
I was thinking it was more likely that Sota would get SkAm than Kao
When Sota got the NHK host spot I realized I may have acted too soon
I'm already going to Skate Canada to support Kao but if anyone has a Skate America All-session or Men's events tickets they're willing to part with I'm willing to pay full price including fees

my feeling is that they want to see proft-nadeau at souvenir georges-éthier... in september.

Is it possible to compete on the junior and senior Grand Prix? I mean, it’s a different discipline… that would definitely be some kind of record, right?
It’s not allowed but I’m not sure if that applies to cross-discipline. I also think it’s highly unlikely they’d be competition ready for the Grand Prix series anyway, they’d at least have to compete domestically first before getting that opportunity.
So is Lia staying in singles too? Hope this does not effect her singles skating since she was showing some promise. But I guess if she can mesh with Trennt in pairs she has a better chance of going further with the state of pairs in CAN. In single even if she comes in 2nd she won't go to worlds but in Pairs if they come 3rd she gets to go to worlds.

I'd be curious too... Trennt is too old to compete in juniors.. so the only thing available for them is senior competitions... so would that mean that they are automatically out of GPs because Lia skated in a JGP? I don't know... someone probably knows if there is something in the rules when skaters are doing two disciplines. BUT.. of course, I was mostly mentioning this tongue and cheek because I was happy Trennt got a new partner... I am not expecting them to be able to compete right away... we all know how long it takes for pairs to gel... even more so with a singles skater who probably had never done pairs... That's something we don't know either, whether Lia was training pairs before or not.
Also : the Skate Ontario sectionals lists all the skaters registered for qualifying. However, those with events will get BYE. So it is possible that since Lia is on JGP, they would get a BYE until much later... but they had to register if they want to be able to compete in those later stages. So we may not find out about this pairing until much later in the season.

It's actually even explicitly allowed:
"Skaters/Couples entered for an event of the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating may not participate in the same discipline of an event of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the same season. Only Skaters participating in different disciplines may enter into both the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating and the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating in the same skating season." (Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2022/2023 Announcement)
