But it is a little ironic that next season the only Russians competing internationally might be ethnic Russians that had to leave competing for Russia due to lack of international assignments.
I know, it is the weirdest thing. I hope Armenia develops a figure skating team. It could be top-notch.

Also, will Talalaikina be clear to compete for Italy next season? I am so deflated with the info that Frolova's injury may be career-ending :bed:

I love Talalaikina. I believe she is clear to compete for Italy as she tried to qualify for Junior Wolrds and competed at Junior Italian Nationals and skated really poorly. She came in 4th place with around 140 points. But, if I was her, I would train as hard as possible to shine next year.

Please share what info you have about Frolova... her leaving the sport would be devastating. My favorite Russian skater by far...

Somebody mentioned it on this forum without a source, so I am just bracing for official announcement if there is one. And keeping my fingers crossed that it is not so.

Yametova will be senior during the coming season.

Well she's senior eligible but that doesn't mean she has to/will move up to seniors. The only retirement to free up a potential GP spot at this point is Samodurova and I'm not sure if she was guaranteed or likely to get a spot next year. Muravieva, Samodelkina and Petrosyan are all very likely to turn senior and will be prioritized for any international assignments (if available) over Yametova. If she wants to compete internationally (if available) I think staying in juniors is her best bet.

I agree 100%. Just making the Russian National Junior team would be fantastic for her. She certainly earned it 😀

When are the athletes free to change clubs? I thought there was a specific time for this. I’m specifically wondering if Trusova is planning to stay with Eteri.

The date and place of sr. nationals was announced:

20-25 december 2022, Krasnoyarsk

Russia will hold its own Grand Prix series (6 stages to be held around the country) and no CoR; plus will hold a special 'jumping competition' (separate from the Channel 1 Cup).

Like the standard domestic cup events they hold every year?

They are either preemptively scheduling these in case the ban is upheld for next season or they have already been told it will continue next season

Question: is there any ability for the Fed or individual athletes to sue the ISU in court to allow them to compete internationally?

Russian Grand Prix Stages in the 2022/23 season will be held in:

Moscow, Sochi, Kazan', Moscow, Samara, Perm'
