On that list

Kim De Guise Léveillée is back.

And Bronsard Richmond are back together : I guess it was a mistake when they announced on the previous version that Jessica Li was back with Jacob : a typo typical of Skate Canada but done with even better style from Patinage Québec ;) :)

Oh and did anyone already know Jazmine Desrochers would be now Kieran Trasher's partner. I think Chloe was a nice partner but perhaps limited jumping wise... So let's see.

Meanwhile at Canadian Ice Partner Search's server

But SC only goes:

Yes, but I wasn't sure if it was going to be a permanent pairing. I agree, will be interested to see how this develops.

ALSO : Wesley and Kaiya are going to SCI so it means two things : they won't be doing JGP ... and it means that SCI filled their host spots.
Top 4 Canadian pairs all have 2 spots. SD/D got seeded instead of KF which could help them getting to GPF.
Dance : the wealth has been spread... a few teams are only getting one spot... perhaps will they be ready to step in if there are w/d

Finally, it's not this year that we will see Gabby Daleman on the GP circuit... and Fiona isn't getting a host spot as many wished after her performance at Nationals. It's Dupuis, Schizas and Ruiter for SCI.

The singles disciplines are going to have to put the work in to be relevant internationally going forward. But at least the pairs have really stepped up again, though ice dance of course remains the flagship discipline (and is likely to for the foreseeable future).

At this point in time, men is officially our weakest discipline... THAT IS CRAZY when looking at the history of Canadian figure skating
Well, as FS fans know, "It comes and goes in waves"
When something goes well for a long time, sometimes it's taken for granted and focus shifts and "suddenly it's gone".
But I'm sure there will be better times again.

well our women are doing so much better... I don't think anyone has ever taken men for granted.... but it's just bad luck.. i mean, in some ways, Keegan exceeded expectations.
Nam : grew super tall... retired relatively young
Nic : super injured... in pairs now
Gogo : grew super tall... lost all his jumps
Conrad : had poor technique ... is tall ... is learning but had very bad luck at worlds and only one GP.
Roman is ROMAN
Jo Phan, injured retired...

Some promising skaters have had their loads of problems too like Wesley, Ilia Kovler ( i have no idea what he became but I really liked him back then)

And then we have skaters who are stuck without the content they need... like Corey or Matt or others...

I guess my username will remain relevant for another olympic cycle or two....

I just don't remember when was the last time our men was the weakest discipline... Dance was weak in the early days... until Bourne and Kraatz (sure Tracy and Rob won an olympic medal but you know)... It picked up with Dubreuil-Lauzon and then it has been flowing...
Women had an incredible recent peak with Kaetlyn and Gabby but yeah... that was the exception... It's usually our weakest discipline.... the years of Jennifer Robinson... oh lord....
Pairs has always been sort of steady and in the mix.

So yeah

Men was never the weakest.

I predict that only we will lose a spot in men for worlds next year.... (2025)

What I find a bit disappointing : was there a chance that Kelly Ann and Loucas didn't get a second assignment if they didn't get a host spot?

It may have been nice for Emma and Nic to get one GP event... you know...
