2023-24 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 4 - Kazan

Another nice skate and happy skater. It's nice to see clean skates among the women. We haven't seen very many on the GP circuit thus far.

It's impossible to stand on podium in place of Fedotov because Arseny is the best junior in the world right now
Eh...not really. He makes mistakes, he has never skated with other juniors, his personality is thoroughly unpleasant which prevents him from interpreting music, and his joints will give out within a year, since he started stretching up. The difference between him and the 5 guys in this competition was minimal.

That's exactly my point and since Im mad about hockey - keep them coming!!!
As a figure skating fan, I have objections to this proposal!
In fact, they are completely different sports, requiring the development of different athletic qualities. I think everyone should not do what is fashionable or seems more popular in society, but what they are meant to do. Nowadays, even in early childhood, children are given the right to make a choice

An unpleasant personality has never been a hindrance on the way to sports medals, rather it has helped...

Another skater who surprised me; shes decent. But that music cut is an immediate no. So jarring and not necessary whatsoever. She could've had a really unique and artistic skate with the beginning track but they sort of ruined it.

They're getting banned on youtube for being Russian TV channel, so not anytime soon.

Now that I have the stream working properly through VLC, it's superior assuming I can watch live. The picture quality on their Youtube streams wasn't as good as it is through VLC.

Not when it disturbs performance like it does with him and plenty of skaters were punished or blacklisted in the past for showing off unpleasant sides of their character in K&C or during medal ceremonies. He is very beatable, just not in this competition, hence not the top guy even in Russia.

I was so sad that Lazarev folded, but omg, the podium was good-- Puzin or Kolesnikov on the podium in place of Fedotov would have made my day!--but Kolesnikov shone...such a glowup on ice. Loved it! And the junior women podium was my dream. I thought Kadyrova was low-balled in short, and seeing her advance to podium after free was a gift. And, of course, Morozova gaining is fantastic.

I am reluctant to watch seniors because of my personal objections toward Valieva's continuing participation in sport. I am gonna see China today.
After Valieva the last 3 skaters are Gorbacheva, Muravieva and Sadkova - I reckon they're worth coming back for the end.

Well, VLC link is just a restream of official 1TV stream. Back in the days they provided English commentary for their youtube stream for foreigners.

Kozyreva has a really interesting dress. Also despite being a strong Muravieva supporter for some reason I'm really excited to see Sadkova as well.

Agreed about the choice and youngsters should decide for themselves. (y) Some kids prefer hockey and I cannot blame them.
Never mind, I think we're just talking cross-purposes here. All good. 👌

Btw, I know they're different sports requesting different skills. It would be weird if not. I'm following the whole shebang for 47 years...
Hockey players do adore and emphasise great skating skills, though. Kurt Browning, a multiple World Champion as I'm sure you know, and ice hockey crazy said he once was watching the referee for the entire game, just because he admired his skating skills.
