2023-24 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 4 - Kazan

I think i finally prefer the red costume a bit more. Less rich in details but it gives him better lines.
Makar died as usual.

I wish Gleb would go clean in his skate, I think a simplified content would help him better at least for a while till he stabilises it and gets more confident.

What did Mishin tell him after the skate?

Makar's boots are broken down. He gave an interview to Alina Zagitova yesterday, showed her his skates and she was shocked by what she saw. This is why he is having problems on the landings even in the first half.
That was very risky then. Didn't Medvedeva only skated the short then withdrew during 2021 nats because of this problem? Because it was too dangerous?

I think Shaidorov's progress is largely due to his choreographers.
Which Urmanov is controlling as Russian coaches are wont to do. That and the fact the Kaz fed, due mostly to Mrs. Ten, is really putting some money behind some of their skaters.

Unfortunately for some reason Makar's boots break down very quickly. The ones he was wearing today, for example, are only three weeks old. This often happens to him in competitions which also affects his consistency.

OK I gotta ask...how did Kirill end up dropping two places? Did his tech go down after he finished? We're the judges displeased with his choice of costume? Did the music put them off?

I can see why Russian men throw every quad jump at the wall after that...like skate clean finish nearly at the bottom. Might as well end up there trying to do crazy jumps.

This guy - whose name already escapes me is pretty awesome. Look at those greens!

Vladislav really didn't come to this competition to play. He has dynamite in his boots.

Makar is very handsome in his new costume, very chic one with all the glittering 😍

But dear, at one point he really looked like he really was going to die right there .... and there still was at least a third of the program to go :( Felt really worried for him.

Too bad about all the missed jumps :(

I think Junwhan Cha of Korea has that issue too, I'm not sure if he managed to fix it, but maybe he has. Makar should drop him a line!
