Despite his struggles, I actually enjoyed Zhenya's skate. Possibly because I haven't got a clue about the technical side of things. I just love how skaters perform to the music and he just does it for me whatever.

They did. Now it's just a lyrical programme with no plot.

I'm okay with lyrical with no plot. I realize that Russia is very keen on storytelling in the literal sense, but for me it's not necessary. You can interprete the music in an abstract way.
However I also think the program is too empty in terms of choreography and could be a bit stronger and more coherent. But it does not need a literal plot with real acting for me.

He's always so energetic and intense.

But apart from the unfortunate jumping today I wish he hadn't changed his costume.

Of course, Zhenya is not Kolyada or Patrick Chan, but he has definitely higher PCS than Gleb, Vlad and Makar. Plus, unlike them, he did a really good StSq4. Gleb has great skills, but he doesn't show them in actual competition due to bad stamina.

Vlad's TES score was quite ahead the rest! And Gleb ended up with the 2nd best FS score.

I really enjoyed the competition. Good programs, felt performances, and even a bit of tension and drama in the end to keep things intriguing
Russian men is by far some of my favourite skating all around It has it all !
