It looked like there was an issue with the organization or fed or coaching team, because he didn't look so much sad as fed up.
But okay, maybe I am wrong, maybe he simply doesn't want to talk about it.

I still don't like that program for him, but he's great and had a great skate.

I'm looking at protocols.

No, the places are absolutely fine.

Vlad has the highest TES but lower PCS. He lost points on his combo and non-jumping elements.

Danya did everything he could.

Semion unfortunately lost a lot on his non-jumping elements. Would be much closer to Danya otherwise.

Matvei got a q call on the Lutz (often happens to him), would be above 100 otherwise.

Popov got a q-call and lost levels.

It's interesting that Anisimov and an edge call on his Lutz. They usually call his Flip.

In this case they would have had exacly the same TES and PCS, so tie-break with highest PCS would not have been enough.
There is always the next tie breaker somewhere. And if not, they would have invented it on the spot. This. Is. Russia. The former country of giving advice. Heh...they love creating rules. But, not the case:)

Okay, I really came to do this: LA-ZA-LEEEV!

Mom spoiled me, but I was waiting for them to put it on the YouTube, and I finally got to

Ramzenkov and Malyutin also did great, as well as couple guys from out-of-town. I wonder if a hybrid model where the athletes live and train at home but with a long-distance imput from capital coaches would develop more and more. We live in the era of zoom...

I also wonder about Matvei. He looked like kind of sad / removed even with the good result. When they showed his score it took me a while to realise he was first because there was no reaction from him, well from nobody on the KnC actually. And in the interview, he seemed to deeply reflect on every answer he gave, wish I could understand Russian to know what it was about. Hope he is ok in any case.

And felt sad for Mark and specially Dima too, really hope he can recover tomorrow

maria paramonova is only 15… she looks really older than other 15 yo girls like dvoeglazova

This is actually such a good program and shes such a good skater. That combo was SO unlucky, but I've seen her fall in that exact way more than once... whats the problem?
