2023-24 Russian Grand Prix - Stage 6 - Moscow

Prineva got an edge call that decided SP winner. She also lost a level on her spin, but Agata lost a level on her steps.
Actually what decided the winner is SS score 7.70 vs 7.65. In TES, CO and PE they had literally the same scores. If one of the four judges gave Prineva 7.75 instead of 7.50, it would have been the first time in FS history where two skaters are sharing the same position, and that the top one :jaw:

So, the National Team skaters have a free pass to Nationals, right?
That means that whatever happens here, Titova, Gordeeva, Zhilina and Rubtsova qualifies anyway?

Oh, wow, junior dance was so cool! Is it my wishful thinking or did Makarov finally start to grow?

Nah, Gummenik and Semeneko already did it last year. Unless I misunderstand what you are referring to. They have tie breakers anyway, so there will never be 2 gold winners.

In this case they would have had exacly the same TES and PCS, so tie-break with highest PCS would not have been enough.

Rubtsova and Zhilina: Yes.

Although what happened to Rubtsova and when she recovers is unknown.

Regarding Gordeeva and Titova it is very difficult to answer. It seems that there were no cases that skaters from the main national team couldn't qualify. The only such case was with Nugumanova, but she was in the reserve. I think it depends on the coach council. Generally, the rules don't provide a bye for skaters who took part in the stages and didn't manage to qualify.

Yeah!! Doesn’t make sense to me if athletes on National team just don’t qualify. Pretty sure this rule only applies in situations where the team member doesn’t compete in any of the Russian stages.

It does seem a bit unfair. I think in all such cases the decision is made by a vote of the coaching panel.
