Totally enjoyed that competiion. That was world's away from any international GP.

Will the GP rise to that level?

This. She should have chosen ice dance or another country (or being born Eteri's daughter) if she wanted to be on top faster. Russia is the worst country to skate for if someone wants to be among top pair teams in one season. Too much competition. She has chosen the wrong field.

Frankly speaking, I have my doubts about 1-2 places as well, and a heavy gun war will break out for the bronze medal

Yeah, they could skate for just about any other country and be on their national's podium and go to worlds.

Not a chance. There are three or four pairs who, on a good day and with bad luck to a Russian pair, could come third - but Russia still rules pair skating

I can see that Alyona is insanely talented and Gosha is incredibly diligent and very wise. I think if they continue to progress as fast, they will come out on top pretty quickly. They have a zest, aka pepper in Alena, as well as the support of the audience, which not every team can boast. All of this bodes well for their promotion

If i was a pair or ice dance skater i would be so unprofessional. I would leave the ice asking "what are we?".

Loved Jr. Women's program. In the free, it's just brilliant. If Russians are burning the bridges, can they allow ultra-c in short for juniors? Pls? This would be awesome.

We don't know how they'll divide the seats, and if they make significant mistakes, they'll have an army of hungry fledglings ready to take over.

Pair skating outside of Russia is terrible right now-retirements of Alexa/Brandon, the Chinese pair and injuries to the Japanese pair-leaves zero that is even watchable.

If Russia presents 3 pairs, it will be the sharks who will gobble everyone up like they gobbled up the best pairs at home. No mistakes. If Russia presents 1 pair... in a year it will be 3 pairs, see above.
