I loved Charlene Wong. Not the hardest jumps but gorgeous skating. Pierrefonds hosts many events... I am going there next weekend for CQÉ... The pairs and dance fields are better than some challengers :)

This is a good find. The opening 2axel is huge.
I didn't know her from this performance. More from her Canadian silver medals in the late 80s. I started watching skating at the Olympics in Calgary.

Reading her wiki page made me interested in Skate Electric or St Ivel competition... which she won in 1988.

lots of famous people won it... But here is a funny thing.. Norm Proft is Emmanuelle Proft's dad :)

i could but then i would need to completely reorganise my work schedule short notice, which is not something I feel I should be doing for figure skating honestly, especially since i had just confirmed all my appointments next week ...

I was so happy that ACI was in my time zone.(y)

And the men are late morning/early afternoon and that is not nearly as good for me for following in the comp thread as late afternoon/evening.

Sad tears.

I'm hoping the weather doesn't take too much of a turn of for the worse this weekend, and cause power outages. They just put out a tropical storm watch for my area in Maine because of Hurricane Lee. I will add that I do not live on the coast, and I'm also a decent distance away from the part of the Maine coast where they've issued the hurricane watch.

I can't say enough how much I wish I were going to this event. So much talent and excitement that I would love to see in person. I hope everyone skates lights out.

You know, i wish i were going too... I am going... but the last minute rescheduling the organizers did means I will only see the LP in men and FD in dance... yeah. i am still processing.
