2023 Bosphorus Cup | Nov 27 - Dec 3

I think so! France has so many talented Junior couples, the Papadakis/Cizeron effect.

Yeah, I was hoping for more Depeche Mode Rhythm Dances this year and only two Junior couples delivered.

We stay in the 1980's for our final competition of the day! 20 Senior partnerships, arranged into two groups of 5; followed by a resurfacing; followed by two groups of 5.

Livestream for Senior Short Dance is now on air.

Here is the link for the livestream:

Here is the Time Schedule:

And here is the live scoring:

Hope this helps

Just caught up on junior dance. I thought that the new Armenian and Turkish teams were impressive.

But We Are the World is an abomination of a song.

Another near collision feat. the Hungarians who got into trouble at that Espoo FD warm up a couple weeks ago 🙈

Yeah, I saw that but didn't realise who it was.

I haven't been commenting because I was eating while watching the opening group.

I forgot they were here! :drama:

☘️ ALL THE BEST CAROLANE AND SHANE!!! ☘️

It's hard to see in this dimly lit rink but their costumes look excellent! Leather jackets for both, a corset top and shiny red leather pants for Carolane and red accents on the jacket for Shane.

Didn't know any of the songs until the last one. And I could have sworn it was from the 70's. But, I just checked and "Superfreak" was from 1981.

Oh, weird fall for Carolane in the Twizzles!

She doesn't look very happy while waiting for their scores. Shane being supportive. He and the coach are a bit more cheery. Not much, but a bit.

Into 5th, about 1 point behind Emese CSISZER / Mark SHAPIRO (HUN)

Dovhal/Kulesza (POL) got the RD World tech mins and now have the full minimums for Worlds, congrats!
Soucisse/Firus (IRL) earned the RD part of Euro mins.
Ramanauskaite/Kizala (LTU) earned the RD part of World mins.
Nette/Westwood (AUS) earned the RD part of 4CC mins.

Ignateva and Szemko's programs seem to be a bit lacking this season in my opinion.

And now they've got not 1 but 2 other domestic rivals.

The choreography of Nette and Westwood seems to have been created with an awareness of the potential audience all around them.

With the camera angled where it is, it highlights just how much emphasis there is at performing toward the panel from many teams.

That's Katharina Muller sat with them, isnt it? She's working for Young Goose Academy in Egna now. Is she actually coaching them or just with them for this event?

How can you mistake Rick James' 80s output for any other decade, that's like the most 80s sounding music ever.

Aha! I did think she looked familiar, but didn't realise who it was.

To answer your question, I have no idea!

Hey, I wasn't around at the start of the 80's! I was only born in the middle of the decade! I'm a child of the 90's!

You are right that it does sound typically 80's. But I have found that there are some songs from the very end of the 70's that do have that 80's sound to them. And I thought "Superfreak" was one of them.

I missed most of the Warm-Up because I was writing a post in another thread, and lost track of time! So, I don't know how Sofía and Asaf got on. But, with how far the camera is zoomed in, I doubt I would have seen much anyway.

But, now is what matters.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST SOFÍA AND ASAF!!! :cheer:

Now I understand the comment earlier about it being strange having the camera on the opposite side of the arena to the Judges. Because everything Sofía and Asaf was doing was directed towards the Judges. So, most of the time we were looking at the backs of their heads.

There was one point early on when I think they momentarily went out of sync.

But, that is the only thing I noticed that could be an issue. Everything else looked great!

Unfortunately, the scores came through very quickly or a change. So, they only arrived in the results area just after the scores were announced. Before the camera let, Sofía managed to sit down and give us a wave. But, Asaf was only coming into shot. So, we didn't really get to see how they felt about their performance.

I hope they were happy. They went into 2nd.

:cheer: WELL DONE SOFÍA AND ASAF!!! :cheer:
