Why were Chan/Howe not picked for Skate America with Knierim/ Frazier most likely being done C/H are the best US Pairs team by a wide margin.

He had shoulder surgery in the summer, if I'm remembering correctly. In the interview I saw, he said the team thought it best to get it done now rather than wait and risk it becoming unmanageable closer to the Olympics. I think they debut in China.

I'm excited that two pairs teams that I follow are skating at the event. Chelsea and Balazs plus Valentina and Max. I've followed Chelsea since late 2014 when she was partners with Brian Johnson and always rooted for her to do well. Max, I remember at the 2015 JGP USA when he and his old partner Joy got 2nd place and then got a 2nd spot because the USFSA hoped they could get a JGPF berth. Then not too much...and now he's back.

I just had a spicy pineapple margarita at a wonderful restaurant called Gloria's near the arena, and now I'm comfortably in my seat ready for my first in-person skating event since 2019. If the child sitting behind me continues screaming during the actual skating, I will ask security to have them removed.

On the Peacock tile labeled Pairs & Men are Terry G, Tara and Johnny. So far on the Peacock tile labeled Pairs I only hear the rink announcer.
