Awwwww. The first Bulgarian skater in this segment, Skater #5, is skating to the version of the "Flintstones" theme tune that was used in the 90's live-action film.



And she was even dressed up as... Fred?!

Well, it looked like Fred's clothes. But she had her hair done up the same way as Pebbles.

And the second Bulgarian skater, Skater #7, who is from a different club, skated to the version of "Friend Like Me" that was used in the live-action re-make of "Aladdin" (so the Will Smith version, not the Robin Williams version).

Another fun programme, but she fell a few times.

Skater #2 was the first time I've seen somebody skating to "Beauty And The Beast" since Angela Lansbury died. It's a poignant song to start with, but it was all the more poignant hearing it now, knowing that she is no longer with us.

And we just had another programme done to "Beauty And The Beast", courtesy of the sole Lithuanian skater in this competition, Skater #13. But, this time it is the duet version from later in the film. So, rather than Mrs. Potts singing, it's Belle and The Beast singing (she's actually wearing a similar dress to what Belle wore in this scene). And it's a cover version at that. It didn't sound like either Céline Dion and Paebo Bryson (animated version), or Ariana Grande and John Legend (live-action version)

I was going to write that when the last skater came out, I was expecting her to be skating to "Swan Lake" judging by her costume. And it was a real shock that she wasn't.

But, about half-way through the programme, I realised that it was actually "Swan Lake", but it had been given a modern re-mix.

Apologies to the wee Croatian girl, but I have to say it:

And the second resurfacing brings us to the end of our Chicks Ladies double-bill. However, we continue with the girls for a Cubs Ladies double-bill. First up, a monster segment of younger Cubs girls. 38 in total, arranged into two groups of 7, followed by three groups of 8.

I'm guessing that there will be at least one resurfacing during this segment. There are 11 groups of Cubs skaters in total (5 groups of younger girls; 5 groups of older girls; and 1 group of boys). So, there are a number of options for when the resurfacings could be.

Oops. They started playing "Mambo Italiano" for the first Hungarian skater, Skater #4, instead of some modern techno song that I don't know.

I think I would have preferred to hear the wrong song...

Aha! We're hearing it now for Skater #5, our 4th Bulgarian skater of the segment!

Didn't notice until there now - the first 8 skaters of this segment are all either Bulgarian (6 girls) or Hungarian (2 girls).

Back from the resurfacing, and the first skater, Skater #23 (a Turkish skater from the same club as the 3 girls I was talking about earlier) has withdrawn. And they didn't have the music ready for the Hungarian skater going at #24. She was standing there in position for ages!

Aha! I just refreshed the tabs in the other window, and the Time Schedule PDF's are now up.

There are 3 resurfacings during the Cubs competitions, and they are positioned:

• Between Groups 3 and 4 in the Cubs II Ladies FS.
• Between Group 5 of the Cubs II Ladies FS and Group 1 of the Cubs I Ladies FS.
• Between Groups 3 and 4 in the Cubs I Ladies FS.

There is no resurfacing between the Cubs I Ladies FS and the Cubs Men's FS.

Lovely skate from Skater #26, the Bulgarian girl that came up on my radar last season because her surname is the female version of the surname of a skater that I have adopted. And it has made me wonder ever since if he has Bulgarian ancestry.

Moving onto the Turkish girl that followed at #27, I think I remember seeing her during a competition earlier this season. Because I have definitely seen a wee girl in a fluorescent pink dress skating to "Barbie Girl" by Aqua in the past few months.

Now that the resurfacing is over, we continue our Cubs Ladies double-bill by moving from the younger girls to the older girls. 33 in total, arranged into two groups of 6, followed by three groups of 7.

A slowed down piano version of the "Pirates Of The Caribbean" music for Skater #6, the Slovenian that is closing the opening group. It's very different to what we are used to hearing, but it's actually not bad.

Ah, Skater #23, the sole Lithuanian skater in this competition, has withdrawn.

So, we went straight onto Skater #24, the girl with the most famous surname in Serbian sport. She has been on my radar for a couple of seasons, for obvious reasons (i.e. her name!)

And it was an absolutely beautiful programme.

She goes into 5th position, with 9 girls left to skate.

Now that the girls quadruple-bill is finished, we conclude the Cubs competitions with the boys. A group of 8 to take us up to the meal break.

The event is running about 30 minutes behind schedule. So, she should be starting at about half past the hour.

A group of 3 boys will follow Anna's group, and Leo will be the second skater to go in it.

I was delighted to see that the stream is still available atm.

Then I took the pdf and saw that both she and Leo skated after the 12 hour mark and so I can't replay them. oh well, I tried.

That's a shame. I was impressed with both of them. So, I was surprised when I looked at the results table and saw that Anna only finished 25th out of 30. That said, it was a close field. Anna was less than 10 points away from the Top 5!

As for Leo, he got a Silver Medal! There's nothing he could have done about the winner, though. With the performance he put in, nobody was going to touch him.

And Daniel is guaranteed to at least match his little brother's position, as there are now only 2 entries in Junior Men. But they don't get under way until tomorrow.

A later start for Day 2. And all the Interclub competitions today are from the Basic Novice level. And we start with the youngest girls. 38 of them, with two groups of 7 girls, followed by three groups of 8 girls.

The stream came on air 9 minutes ago, but didn't get listed on the channel's page until now. I just wound back, and it started during Skater #1's programme.

I had to break away earlier, so I have been running about 7 minutes behind.

Right, this is something different. The picture froze during the penultimate skater's programme. But the audio has continued. So, we heard the last skater's music. We just didn't see her.

The resurfacing is now happening, and we are still looking at the Slovenian girl.

I hope they get it sorted in time for the next segment starting.

EDIT No sooner did I post this, then the screen went completely red. Then we momentarily had a European Criterium card saying that the livestream would start shortly; then we went back to the red screen. Then a screen with an OBS Studio logo on it appeared. And then we got out pictures back. But without sound.​
