We continue with our Basic Novice quadruple-bill, but take a brief excusion into Men's Singles skating. A group of 6 boys.

I think the first boy has started his programme, as the camera is moving around. But we still have the advert covering most of the screen, and have no sound.

EDIT: Ah. The Slovenian boy that was due to start us off has withdrawn. That is why the stream was still set up for the interval, even though there was only one boy on the ice that the camera was following around. It was just the Bulgarian boy doing an extra Warm-Up.​

Before we go back to the girls, I want to say something. What a variety of programmes we had from the boys! All 5 of them were so different to each other. But, I enjoyed them all!

And never did I ever imagine that I would see somebody skating to a sea shanty! But, the last boy did just that!

After that excursion into the boys, we are back to the girls. And it is the middle age group Basic Novices. 26 girls, arranged into two groups of 6, and then two groups of 7.

Day 1 of Skate Helena is starting now with a Chicks triple-bill. A group of 2 boys; followed by 15 Chicks II girls (2 groups, arranged 7/8); followed by 22 Chicks I girls (3 groups, arranged 7/7/8).

As the Time Schedule links are taking us to 404 error pages, I don't know when there will be gaps between segments. So, for the Chicks, I will do separate posts for each segment. And then see how it goes after that.

I'm 12 minutes behind (I had to do something, but the last resurfacing came too early for me), but I've got another window open to keep an eye out for the next segment starting. And I just noticed that the picture froze during the Warm-Up.

Hopefully it will come back quickly, and we won't miss much.

Unfortunately, the picture was frozen for the entire final group of the Basic Novice II Ladies FS.

But, with the Zamboni currently on the ice, it has now been fixed.

Let's hope that it stays that way and we don't have it freeze for a third time.

I hope this is another case of the first skater having withdrawn, and the camera following the second skater doing an extra warm up. Because, if it's not, we can't see the first programme because of the advert! Or hear the music!

EDIT: Unfortunately, it was the first skater doing her programme. Because when the advert disappeared, she was bowing, and gifts were being thrown onto the ice.​

Oh, the announcer just said that they are having technical issues and, as a result, the scores can't be seen.

It's a long time since I saw that happen.

But, it looks like they are going to let the skaters carry on doing their programmes, and sort out the scores later.

Ah, I had forgotten that the Hristova sisters were here!

Loved that skate from Vayana.

The last time I saw Vayana, she was competing at Advanced Novice level in the Bosphorus Cup. And I'm kinda disappointed that she is back in Basic Novice this week, because it would have been nice to have seen her skating twice. But, I suppose when you're competing in a series like the European Criterium, it doesn't make sense to change levels mid-series, as doing so will prevent you achieving the best position you can in the final standings.

At least Chiara will be out twice.

Due to taking too long to make my sandwiches during the resurfacing, I'm currently 2 skaters running behind. I just watched Kolos RAC (HUN), who was skating to a Queen medley ("Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Don't Stop Me Now).

I can't believe that the first 2 words of the line "Little high, little low" were censored.

There's far worse lyrics than those that get skated to but remain uncensored!
