Wrong music for Akims KIRILOVS (LAT)?

The skater that was supposed to go before him, Kristofer KIM (EST), withdrew. So, I wonder if it was Kristofer's music playing. 🤔

Well, it certainly wasn't Akim's music. Because the music that was put on the second time was VERY different to what was put on the first time!

Neither of them have the music listed in their ISU Bios, so I can't check.

We had a bit of drama involving Chiara at the start of the Warm-Up.

Her coach, former Ice Dancer Ina Demireva, was standing right beside the camera. When the skaters were called for their Warm-Up, Chiara went onto the ice, set her skate guards onto the top of the boards, and went off to do her warm-up. But, when Ina tried to lift them, one of them fell onto the ice. She looked very sheepish, and had to reach out of the gate and pick it up. And while she was doing it, SelmaSiri LARSEN (DEN) went past her head at speed. It was scary!

And with writing all that up, I missed what actually happened during the Warm-Up! :drama:

But, Chiara is coming on now, so we'll see now what form she is in.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST CHIARA!!! :cheer:

Yep, she's working back towards her natural hair colour.

First jump, the Double Axel, was beautiful. One person applauded.

Combination jump was beautiful too, as was the combination spin that followed.

Next jump, the Triple Lutz, beautiful too, and straight into a lovely sit spin.

Ach, the whole programme was beautiful. She is definitely carrying on her form from the Denkova-Staviski Cup.

Chiara and Ina were joking about something during the highlights. But afterwards they looked very serious.

Into the lead with a score of 48.92.

:cheer: WELL DONE CHIARA!!! :cheer:

I forgot to pass comment, the last skater in Group 1 was the first of SEVEN Estonian skaters going in a row! In fact, there are 9 out of 10, because two more are going immediately after Anna IUSHCHENKOVA (ISR).

This group we are in now, Group 2, consists completely of Estonian skaters.

I take it that is one of her team-mates sitting with Varvara MOROZOVA (EST).

Not sure who, though. It wasn't one of the two Estonians that went directly before her, anyway.

They were having a good chin-way anyway.

Unfortunately, Varvara goes into last position.

Reached the interval, and the girl that was sitting with Varvara MOROZOVA (EST) hasn't been on yet.

HOWEVER, Nataly LANGERBAUR (EST) and Helina KULL (EST) also had girls sitting with them that were around the same age as them.

For somebody who for years has been saying how heartwarming it is when watching younger level competitions in Estonia to see crowds of little girls sitting with and often climbing over their team-mates when they are getting their results, it is so good to see that the camaraderie is still there when they grow up!

I loved everything about that programme from Polina KUROTSKINA (EST)!!!

The music (I can never remember what it is, but I always love it!), the dress, and the skating!

For goodnes sake, she even had a picture of a katana on the back of her dress! That is really making the effort!

She went into 6th position.

Emmi was just interviewed in local national tv's talk show. She had had some problems with her blades and did not get them fixed in time.

And that resurfacing comes at the perfect time, because I am leaving now for food. But, I'll pause it and play catch-up when I am finished eating.

All the best to everybody that is still to skate.

I forgot that Fazeway take their videos private as soon as the stream stops broadcasting!!!

#24 Nikola FOMCHENKOVA (LAT) was waiting for her score when it cut out on me. So, I had 1 skater left in Group 5, and all of Group 6.

Not a happy bunny.

Hard to comment, because the stream was pretty choppy for me during Angelīna.

Into last position. But only 0.13 points behind Minja.

Now for Sarina. Sounds like she's not happy having switched to Italy. She now wants to switch to Canada... :p

I think it's a joke about her music choice being very much something that would not feel out of place at Canadian competitions among the sea of ballads, covers and Celine Dion & Lara Fabian songs.

Interesting to gave seniors first but Tallinn trophy has always been like it, hasn't it? There will kids' competitions later? My theory is Estonians take school seriously and they try to have kids' comps so that children don't need to take so much free from school.

@Jumping_Bean is correct. There is a running joke on here that everybody that skates to Céline Dion or Michael Bublé is applying to join the Canadian team. (I'm not sure if @elektra blue started it, but she definitely keeps it going!)

But, it backfired in this case because it turned out that it wasn't CĂ©line Dion after all (it really did sound like her, though. It didn't sound like Lara Fabian at all. But, given Lara has Italian heritage, it made more sense for her to be covering "Caruso" than CĂ©line).

Sorry that I didn't make it clear enough that my tongue was in my cheek, and that it caused you confusion @TeamGubanova

Exactly. That is my theory too.

And, although it is not convenient for fans that are out at work, it does make sense for the skaters. Have the older level categories on Thursday and Friday when the kids are at school, and have the kids on Saturday and Sunday when they are off school.

Except that there are so many competitions being held at this event that the organisers have had to push the older skaters back to Wednesday and Thursday, with the kids having an extra day on Friday. Which kinda defeats the whole purpose of trying to avoid having the kids take time off school.
