I sadly think that Conrad saw the writing on the wall, unfortunately.
I anticipate the GP spots will be as follows for our Senior Men:
Skate Canada: Wesley, Romsky, Aleksa
With Wesley getting another GP spot; Stephen Gogolev (if not retired) getting 1/2 international GP events.
SC would then give these 3/4 athletes, a challenger event.
If you are top 3/4 in Canada, you are in an okay situation. It is when you are stuck at 4–6, when you have to reevaluate your situation and I think it hurts when you are sent out to international events, only to be kept in domestic completions the following year.
This reminds me of Corey’s situation. Corey, after skating in GP events the previous season, got left with just the few domestic events. Unlike Conrad, he knew he had the Italian option though. If you are European, you have so many events to pick from and you have so many opportunities to best your personal bests throughout the season.
I will miss your son, Conrad and I hope you picking Edward as your new son, hasn’t tarnished his future performances
