If he turned 18 recently, he'll be Junior-eligible for pairs until the 2029-30 season, with Jaslynn turning Jr-eligible in 2026-27. They wouldn't have any overlapping Sr-Jr-seasons (Jaslynn will turn Sr-eligible in 2030-31), but they would have 4 seasons of Jr-eligibility if they were one of the few pairs who stay together after Novices.Yes, the same Nico who is in Junior Men. He turned 18 recently, so he'll be aging out of it before Wong is eligible to compete internationally in Juniors![]()
They won Pre-Novice Pairs last season, so I think this is their second season together. They'll benefit from the age change rules if they do stay together and have that time to compete. But that's if they stay together.I believe Nico just started pairs.. so this big age gap was probably for him to gain experience with lifts and throws with a smaller partner.. but he could find a new partner more age appropriate for competition after acquiring more mileage and strength
Nice!! Well, so far they are winning Novice after SP.They won Pre-Novice Pairs last season, so I think this is their second season together. They'll benefit from the age change rules if they do stay together and have that time to compete. But that's if they stay together.
What about Antony Pard.Nice!! Well, so far they are winning Novice after SP.
It was nice watching Kristen and Michael as coaches….
I’m right now watching Novice boys and I’m falling asleep
I’m really worried about the future of our Boys/Men…. The level so far is on par with PreNovice Boys. I’m hoping there is an unseen gem out there.
Bring Keegan or Patrick back![]()
Trying to judge the future of Canadian men based on Novice short programs here is hard. Looking at last year, Parker won silver at Novice Challenge with a total score of 114.49. His free skate alone at Nationals this year was 119.65 and he won in Nice with a total score of 187.86. A lot can change in less than a year with the below-Senior men.I’m right now watching Novice boys and I’m falling asleep

Yes.What about Antony Pard.
I think he was promising.
In women, how did Camila V and Beau C do ?

He also goes into cautionary tales involving Canadian skaters.Maybe the lesson here is to enjoy what we’ve got in front of us right now, instead of worrying how high she can climb in the future — or how that August birthdate may hold her back (and who knows what becomes of that age rule in the future. It dropped down to 15 back in the 1990s. Who’s to say it can’t rise again before 2030. Or what if that July 1 cutoff suddenly became Sept. 1? Again, there is no predicting the future).
“We said no to Art On Ice, we said no to Stars On Ice, we said no to everything. We’re not doing any of the shows,” said Stellato-Dudek. “We said no to everything this year so that we can have training more similar to the end of 2023 going into 2024 (their World championship season).
“And we have to be ready earlier (for the Olympic season). It’s just different. We tried it (lots of touring) and now we know what we want for this year.”
i am talking about Antony Pard... not anthony paradisYes.
Senior Men - Romsky
Junior Boys - Anthony, David B, David H
I guess I should be happy with the talent we have. I just wish there was another Anthony or David Howes waiting in the wings. Novice Boys just ended. The competition got a bit better. Top guy attempted a triple triple (but, was boring). Rui in second is probably the most talented. He had 3Lz and 3F 2T.
The third place finisher I missed cause I fell asleep(might go back later tonight to watch that performance)
Camila V and Beau C skate their SP next… I have dinner plans. So, i will only watch the first hour and then watch the rest when I get back home.

You want them to peak as seniors, not at juniors or novices. One of Canada's problems is that your men have been peaking too early and burning out or getting serious injuries before they really become established as seniors.I need patience!! hehe i had beaten you to itI’m just in the second group of Novice girls and I’m happier than I was with Novice Boys
@4everchan Camila was clean. 3Lz 2T, 2A and 3T… she leads with 47.57
2nd place Chantelle had a 3T 3T
3rd place Stephanie a 3Lo
I have to stop now
Got to live a well balanced life
I will watch the rest of the competition after dinner plans
damn... i went to novice girls and i missed a mirror baby pairs... sigh...Mirror baby pairsI think Pothier/Roberts had the best death spiral so far too.
