2024-25 Prince Ice World

It was announced that Nobu will debut a new program in Tokyo and Shoma will take part in one of the PIW ensemble numbers:

Machine translation of Nobu's comment:

After finishing my second active season, I would like to once again thank all the people who supported me and applauded me at the venue from the bottom of my heart. This time, I will perform at ‘Prince Ice World Tokyo’ as my first ice show after retiring from active duty for the second time, and I will present a new program. I have been thinking about this program for almost a year, and it is a program that combines humour and skating expression. I also feel that my passion for skating has grown stronger. I hope you will come to the venue and watch it!

Unfortunately Reika Matsumoto and Marie Ogawa are leaving the PIW ensemble after the the current tour / the shows in Tokyo:

In addition, it was announced that Nobu will debut a new program in Tokyo and Shoma will take part in one of the PIW ensemble numbers:

Not Shoma doing this the year I was not planning in any way to go to Japan LOOOOOL. @yuumagical I need reports!!!!!!!!!!

I'm on my way to the airport right now, you'll get your report after I get to Japan! 😆

Edit: I wasn't planning on going to Japan this year either, but then a certain political event happened and I felt the sudden urge to see Shoma again in order to have something to look forward to. 😂

2. Keiji - The Phantom of the Opera
3. Nobunari - Send in the clowns
4. Kana & Daisuke - Symmetry
5. Shizuka - Amethyst
6. Shoma - Clair de Lune / I love you Kung Fu (EEAAO)
7. Finale - Footloose
8. Meet & greet

In addition, it was announced that Nobu will debut a new program in Tokyo and Shoma will take part in one of the PIW ensemble numbers:

Suprisingly, the collaboration with the PIW ensemble did not only feature Shoma but also Daisuke, who portrayed a student and a teacher respectively as part of the "School of Rock" number. (Shoma performed spins and Daisuke showcased his "The Phoenix" step-sequence.)

Daisuke Takahashi, Shoma Uno and others in spectacular style, including Nobunari Oda in his first post-retirement ice show.

The figure skating ice show ‘Prince Ice World Tokyo Performance’ started on 21 February at the DyDo Drinco Ice Arena in Nishi-Tokyo City. Guest appearances by Nobunari Oda, who finished his second active career after last month's National Sports Festival Winter Games, Shoma Uno, who won two consecutive men's World Championships, and Daisuke Takahashi, who competed in singles and ice dance, graced the ice.
Oda, in his first ice show appearance since his retirement, performed his new programme ‘Send In the Clowns’. Wearing clown make-up and costume, he performed five jumps to a relaxed tune. After the performance, which he had been practising since the day after the national sporting event, he said: ‘I feel like I've been liberated. I think I was able to skate with gratitude to my fans once again’.
He said he was not satisfied with his performance at Kokusport, ‘I was so frustrated that I actually thought about competing again. I really miss the tension and the competition of the games’, he said. Even so, ‘I really enjoyed skating for the past two years (since my return). I hope I can give back to the ice show what I enjoyed, what I learnt and what I gained from it,’ he said with renewed determination.
Mr Uno performed ‘I Love You Kung Fu’, a song he used during his active career, and the ice dance couple, Kana Muramoto and Mr Takahashi, also gave spectacular performances. Mr Uno and Mr Takahashi made a surprise appearance in the Prince Ice World Team's performance, which was themed on the musical ‘School of Rock’. Mr Uno played the role of a student and performed spins, while Mr Takahashi played the role of a coach and performed steps, wowing the audience. The performances will continue for four days until the 24th.

What I can confirm at the moment was that the show itself was quite fun to watch. However, I am sadly not in the mood to do a more detailed report. :(

Don‘t worry. Happy to read anything you’re willing to share when/if you feel like it. I enjoyed your reports in the Shoma fanfest - sounds like it was a fun adventure (even if not everything went according to plan)! :ghug:

#PIW2024_2025 Tokyo Performance.
On 23 and 24 Feb, the #Tokyo Metropolitan Musashi Murayama High School Black Dance Club and the #Bunan High School Dance Club, which won the ‘Seibu Railway Prize’ at the national high school dance club competition #Dance Stadium, gave a vigorous dance performance before the show began!
Thank you very much!

A Japanese fan reported that at the last day of PIW Tokyo.... they saw the pink sisters (yes, THE pink sisters) watching PIW in Tokyo. They must have came after watching 4CC? If so, what great timing and dedication 😁

At this point I have to believe they are sponsored by the ISU as official skating ambassadors. ;)

I uploaded the Spring Awakening/School of Rock number from today's full tv broadcast featuring Shoma as an obedient model student and Dai as a legendary, strict coach specialising in step sequences :

(The most hilarious part is Daisuke's entrance during the steps and turns lesson and Hirokazu teasing him by mimicking the beginning of Dai's straightline Cyberswan step sequence.)

I noticed those familiar-looking pink jackets too when I entered the rink...but I thought they may have been different people with a similar style? I thought, no way could the sisters be  here, lol. I think they were on the south side of the rink. I was walking above them and they were far below me. Sadly I couldn't get a closer look at them, it would have been nice to say hi again if they were really the French sisters.

Shoma can still easily pass as a cute high school student 🥰

He sure can! After Shoma performed his spins Hirokazu apparently told him that he has nothing more to teach him and that he might even be able to compete in the Olympics one day. The little self-deprecating / "inside" jokes about Shoma and Dai (the latter was referred to as the "legendary demon coach", which was probably supposed to be a nod to him portraying Ura in the upcoming Hyoen production) were a pretty nice addition. 😁

Yeah, and Shoma was teasing Hirokazu back. There was a day where Hirokazu asked who his name is and Shoma was like, "HIROKAZU DEESUUU!!" and jdjdjfj at the end he was like "My name is Shoma!!! MY FAVORITE SKATER IS HIROKAZU KOBAYASHI!!" lol.
