Caught up on pairs and dance only...
M/G are a miracle. They should be thanking the heavens each day to have found each other. They never fail to make me smile and to magically lift the level of any competition (even when you swore there must have been something wrong with the ice...). They would be 4-5x World champions by now if they could compete, like Rodnina, G&G, Protopopovs, but those pairs did much easier elements!!! They really are amazing to make it look effortless every time. The program isn't my fave but I enjoyed it today, when the audience thought they were done and started cheering, and they still had more choreo and another throw, and luckily they did it perfectly (how many other skaters would start to celebrate and fall!)
I didn't like how Trankov sprung the surprise on them about the Olympics. They are smart. They didn't give him the big excited reaction because they know there will be all kinds of caveats and they just sort of shrugged until they have time to read all the information from official sources. Love them.
B/K obviously look rough. Didn't care for Dima's celebrating at Kh/K's result but then in the interview he seemed to be implying he understood Kh/K deserved higher. I do feel sorry for them the way they panic and make mistakes. They were so brilliant when they won with Anna Karenina their last season under Moskvina.
I'm annoyed that Kh/K weren't allowed to beat B/K when they were allowed to beat T/M at a GP a couple of years ago, yeah they were clean then but they were very rough and juniorish back then, and yet now they can't beat a bad skate from B&K?
So sad M/E didn't even stay top 4 in the LP... sigh... if they couldn't medal this year it will never happen... they were robbed in the SP.
I don't know why O/G became so inconsistent all of a sudden. I really like this year's LP.
I adore Kadyrova's LP, it's one of the best ever, it's a shame she can never skate clean anymore.
