2025-26 Russian Nationals Pairs Short Program

Chikmareva didn't even come to the mixed zone. :(
I imagine she's fine. Just doesn't want the reporters to ask the same monotonous questions 5 times over when she's already in a bad mood. I'm surprised so many skaters do interviewers at all after bad skates.

I didn't do the prediction game, but I did notice how many people put Boikova/Koz ahead of Mishina/Gal this time... because of the autumn events and worries if Gal is recovered from his injuries, I imagine. I was thinking I would bet M/G will come out ahead, because they're better competitors. Especially Boikova misses something -- usually a stumble on the throw jump -- when put head to head with M/G.

Anyway, I enjoyed the programs I was able to watch, after the fact. And the FS should be very interesting, at least the top 2. I like B/K's FS this year; it seems originally choreographed. And I like watching their coach, Stanislav! But I still love M/G. :)

The problem was not Galliamov's injury. It looked like M/G had problems in their partnership.

M/G have such grit, I think they'll win. :cheeky: I won't mind B/K winning, both are great, but M/G are my faves.

A really enjoyable competition with a lot of good & entertaining skates.

I really like this SP from M/G, it would have gone down well in Milano… 😔 I wasn’t aware of any issues in their partnership but it could explain why they have struggled in the Free this year. I would have had them further ahead of B/K. It’s still all to play for. Sasha look very annoyed & stressed in the K&C.

It’s a real battle for bronze, just over 2 marks between 3rd and 7th.I’d imagine C/Y will come through for the medal. It was O/G best skate of the season, I like the male vocals for Malade but they have struggled in the free. Mukhortova did not look happy with her score 😬. It’s nice to see Artimieva and Butenko back competing. I always thought that Khodykina was the sister of Khoydikin. She works well with Butenko.

Based on what I’ve seen on the GP this season, I think the Russians are being marked quite tough for their performances this seasons.

I’ve also enjoyed seeing all the former skaters by the boards. So nice to Petrova/Tikhonov coaching together, it looks like Morozov is the lead coach for B/K with Team Tut as supporting partners. A pleasant surprise was seeing Akhantieva as part of Team Klimov.

Best of luck to everyone in the Free, look8ng forward to lots of clean skates 🍀🍀

hm. What kind of problems do you mean, if it's not impolite to ask? I'm just interested because I enjoy them.
