Not the quite the high standard competition I was hoping for but I still enjoyed it, it’s Russian Pairs after all. It was a nearly a dead heat but B/K shaded it, I’m not sure I’d have it that way. I thought M/G should have a bigger lead after the SP.
B/K delivered an amazing quad salchow but her jumps were a bit off. Everything else they did was great. The win meant a lot to them. Morozov has worked well with them. My favourite was M/G everything was going well for them till the final throw. They struggled a bit on the first lift. I really like this programme. I was surprised they lost on PCS, I’d have them ahead in that. He was seriously annoyed after, he didn’t even talk in the interview. I wouldn’t like them to split. Moskvina’s reaction to the fall was priceless.
A great skate by C/Y for a well deserved bronze, they skate with huge speed. I was disappointed with O/G but her jumps were awol, they have not pushed on the way I thought they would. Most of the couples had some issues but I still enjoyed it. B/K had a great skate to open the Free, I thought they were marked a little low.
