Veronika Zhilina has been refused a release for Azerbaijan.

Sikhuralidze told the media that applications submitted by athletes without citizenship or residence in the country of switch for at least a year are not considered.

(The second sentence is the ISU rule by the way).
Can she do something to reapply in the future? I am sad for her.

Slightly off-topic, but I thought Karina Akopova had Armenian citizenship? At least I remember her talking about being from an Armenian family last September. If so, I don't know why their (Akopova/Rakhmanin's) request wasn't at least considered.

At this point, their fate is reliably unknown. Sikhuralidze only said that there are no high-profile transfers.

Now that Petrosyan is officially going to Beijing for the olympics qualification, I think skating conservative, meaning scaling back on quads/3A should be the strategy there. Skating clean rather than quadfest should be the priority. And just go all out at the olympics.
