Hase/Volodin are the reason why I started watching pairs again last year. They have IT. She caught my eye in 2018 Skate America, and I'm so glad that she's shining now. I love that he was also able to get back to competitive ice instead of just languishing in Russian ice shows. This wasn't a perfect skate, but together, they are now 2x GPF champions. If they can get to the Olympics, they are a strong contender not just for the podium but for gold.
Miura/Kihara were sloppy, and the silver here was a huge gift. Their SP is a gem, but I like it more for the composition rather than because of their skills.
Ghilardi/Ambrosini's "side-by-side" jumps represent why I stopped watching pairs. They may as well not have been in the same rink. Not even just wildly far apart, but not even an effort to try to synchronize them, terrible, terrible.
