2024-25 Senior Grand Prix Final Pairs Short Program

Just watching. I really wish that Luka's shirt was the same color as Anastasia's leotard. I don't know why it annoys me, but it does. Either make them the same or make them very different. It just looks like an oops.

Good performance by Minerva and Nikita. Just would have liked to see more connection between them in this program. For him to get a bit looser.
Riku and Ryuichi's short program is amazing. By far the best program they've ever had. They would've probably break 80 point mark if not for her underrotated jump.

I have to admit I am really disapointed with the Japanese. They should be the class of the field and they still might win but since Russia was banned they are by far the best team but they rarely show it. I don't know how they lost the world title. Really kind of surprise. Sure they may win worlds still this year but they should be dominating with their skills and pcs. I do like the Germans tricks but I don't find much chemistry. But for this field you don't need to have it all. I expect a really good skate from Japan as they have not impressed this year so far and really should be you would think unbeatable. But then again ice is slippery.

Rebecca and Filippo can skate to Tango de Roxanne all they want as long as they continue to sell it the way they do. Actually, with that smoldering expression on his face in the beginning, Filippo can sell me anything. ;) These two always bring the intensity, passion and commitment to their performance and musical interpretation.

Looking at their protocols, they tied for best jump score, had the second best lift, second best twist, and best level 4 back outside death spiral.

They only got level 3 for the step, but got good GOE.

Their PCS was quite good, especially with a botched throw. They move well to music, have speed, and relate well to each other.

They had synchronization problems on the spin, but it was level 4.

And Ellie stepped out badly on the throw, but did not fall and fully rotated it.

If she gets the throws fixed, this is a team that might do very well at Boston Worlds.

I read that they were confused why they only got level 3 for the steps :D

I think it's great for them to have qualified for the final. That should be a confidence boost for the rest of the season. And home Worlds should also be a motivational factor, I just hope she's not to stressed out about that. Between the two of them, I think he's the more confident one.

I had not seen M/B's SP yet this season but had seen pictures of their 80's workout costumes, so assumed they were skating to "Fame" or "Physical" or even something from "Flashdance."

But Bronski Beat's "Why?" a song about homophobia and two men fighting for their love? As much I love hearing Jimmy Sommerville's vocals in a skating program, whoever chose the song was smoking something or something was lost in translation.

Mark and Ted seemed to not like the music choice at all, and while I love the song on its own, it's not really a good choice for them.
