The dress was nice even if it didn't match. I love the teddy bears.

So do I.

But, I just love teddy bears in general! 🧸

By the way, there is a particular teddy bear that I have seen that I would love to buy and give to one of my skaters if I ever meet her. But, I don't know if that will ever happen.

Oh, Alica. I have liked you and your sister for a long time, but I don't like your music.

That said, it might be the effects of the arena. Because the echos have been making lots of music sound weird.

As for the dress, it is a greyish white. And, hence, out comes my normal complaint about dresses that blend into the ice and boards.

But, she skated very well. It was beautiful.

New leader. And deservedly so!

Vivien PAPP (HUN) was a withdrawal.

And that has actually worked out nicely for me, because it means that I can get the group finished before leaving to eat. Which I wanted to do, as I want to see Inga.

Hope everything is alright with Vivien.

As with the Advanced Novices earlier, so with the Juniors now. We move straight to the boys. There will be a resurfacing after Group 1.

But I am currently playing catch up on the last group of girls. And I will be leaving the skating after I finish them to do other things.

So, all the best to the Junior boys!

Day 2 started about 20 minutes ago with the Advanced Novice Ladies FS.

Sorry that this is late. Although I pressed the button to start the computer an hour ago when I got up to go to the toilet, I went back to bed and was too tired to get up again until now. I watched the skating for too long yesterday!

And we are actually repeating the running order from yesterday. The difference is that because the two girls competitions are so long, the Junior Men are bumped to tomorrow morning.

Here is today's livestream:

My goodness, the camera work was really bad for the first skater, Leyla TEMIZ (TUR). I hope it improves.

I've now watched three skaters, and the camera work hasn't improved.

They've changed the camera postion from yesterday. And I think the problem is that there isn't room where they are now for a tripod, so the camera operator is having to hold it themselves. And it is resulting in some very wonky shots.

I hope they move back to yesterday's position and start using a tripod again either at the end of this group, or during the resurfacing. Because this is very hard to watch.

Hey, I just looked at the livescoring page, and realised that of the 21 skaters in the first 3 groups, 20 of them are Turkish. The only skater that isn't Turkish is the middle skater in Group 2, skater #11 Salma ELSAKKA (EGY).

For that matter, 3 of the first 5 skaters in Group 4 are Turkish as well. So 23 of the first 26 skaters are from the host country.

Incidentally, there are 29 Turkish skaters altogether in Advanced Novice Ladies. There were supposed to be 30, but one of them opted to go to the Santa Claus Cup this week instead, where she finished 10th out of 35 in the Basic Novice Ladies FS yesterday.

That is an impressive number of skaters! And bodes well for the future.

I just watched Salma ELSAKKA (EGY), and when we switched to the camera in the results area, she was half in shot when putting her skate guards on. And it was then that I realised that her dress matches really well with the backdrop of the results area!

The backdrop is a twilight scene of the Istanbul skyline, with blue at the top, orange in the middle, and black at the bottom.

Salma's dress was the same shade of blue, with some black.

She went into the lead.
