2024 CS John Nicks Pairs Competition Sr. FS

This Youtuber has posted quite a few performances from this competition.

They're fan videos, not super high quality, but with the absence of livestreams, I'm grateful for what I can get.

I’d also like to thank the YouTuber for sharing this, and would observe that better audio coverage would, if anything, make that cover of Je Suis Malade used by Efimova/Mitofanov even more disagreeable. (As if, that were possible!)

I thought they skated it reasonably well, but I admit I've hated this music choice since Weaver/Poje. Who wants to watch figure skating and be depressed?

From the last two days, literally every Nicks SP and FS, for seniors and juniors. Also every Mid-Atlantics NQS pairs SP and FS, for senior, junior, novice.
For those who never have been in this rink: It would be an understatement to say that it is not ideal for spectators. By necessity, the videos are shot thru hockey glass; spectators do not have access to the judges' side without hockey glass. The acoustics are poor, and it is not easy for spectators in the rink to hear the announcer and sometimes the music. Seating for spectators is extremely limited. This generous person spends hours on her feet to shoot the videos (and then spends more time on uploading). I am beyond grateful to her. 🫶

To be clear... in no way did I intend to be disrespectful of this Youtuber, who obviously did this as a labor of love.

I just didn't want anyone to think I was directing them to a professional quality video series - something they might catch on Peacock for instance.

She's a fan, she took the best videos she could, and as it turns out, they're all we have. So, yes, I am grateful for her efforts!

PS. At the time I discovered her, she must not have had all her treasures uploaded yet - because it wasn't the complete competition at the time. So, I appreciate her even more now.

They skated noticeably better. Their skill levels are much higher, now they just need some consistency. Very encouraging this early in the season for both teams.
Noticed that, too. Keeping my eye on G/K as they are highly motivated for the Olympics and have cleared the citizenship hurdle.
