2024 IceChallenge | Nov 4-10

Ah, I remember Skater #4 from last week in Riga (where, coincidentally, she had the same start number!) She is the one where I was wondering if she was related to Max Pfisterer.

I never actually commented about her programme last week. So I'll do it now. She is wearing a mainly pale yellow dress, with blue on her right shoulder, and pink on her left shoulder. I don't know the music.

But she was good.

She and her coach have a small Austrian flag, which they are enthusiastically displaying.

She goes into 2nd position.

Skater #5 from Croatia was a withdrawal, so we have our fourth Austrian in a row.

She was wearing a beautiful blue dress, where the shade was dark at the top and got lighter as you went down. And she was skating to "Take Me Home" by Jess Glynne.

I thought it was beautiful.

But, she went into 5th position

Although the first Croatian was a withdrawal, the other Croatian was here to close out Group 1.

She was wearing a sky blue dress, and skating to violin music.

She seemed happy.

And no wonder. We have our first change of leader of the competition!

Group 2 is opening with the final two Austrians.

I have to admit, I have never come across Skater #8's first name before. But, it is nice. She is wearing a turquoise dress. And the music is beautiful (I have heard it skated to many times, but just can't think what it is at this moment!)

She was good!

She goes into 3rd position.

Boys but it is getting tight. She is only 0.06 behind 2nd position!

The final Austrian, Skater #9, was wearing a funny coloured dress. This is probably not the most appropriate way of describing it,given the age of these skaters, but it was 50 shades of grey!

The music was beautiful. But then after a while, French vocals kicked in. Don't get me wrong, the singing was good. But I was enjoying it as an instrumental.

Ach, the stream froze just before she finished. And when it came back a couple of seconds later, the picture quality had reduced and there was no sound.

It then went to a test card. And came back as the next skater was being introduced.

From the livescoring page, she went into 4th position.

The sole Slovenian skater was skating to "You Don't Own Me", but I'm not sure whose version it was (I definitely recognise the voice).

She waw wearing a beautiful dark blue dress with gold pattern.

I really enjoyed that programme.

She goes into 5th position

The remaining two Hungarians now. The first, Skater #11, had what I would describe as nearly an Olè programme, but not.

The music was Spanish, but not the type you normally get in an Olè programme.

And the dress was nearly completely black, except for the red frilly bits at the end of the skirt part. Normally in an Olè programme, it is the other way around.

She was good.

Hungary reclaims the lead.

The final Hungarian was wearing a pink dress with white trim. I know the music, but can't think what it is or what film it is from. But, the vocals are in French.

That was a beautiful programme.

I wouldn't be surprised if we now had a Hungarian 1-2-4.

We do! She goes into 2nd position.

Two British skaters to finish off.

The party has really started with the girl from Scotland! She is wearing a pink and orange dress. And is skating to party music (no idea what it is!)

What a fun programme! Not my usual cup of tea, but you couldn't help enjoying it! She was really selling it!

She goes into 8th position.

And we finish with the girl from England.

She is wearing a beautiful royal blue dress.

Ach, I know this song! And I love it. But because it's not in English, I can't work out how to spell the lyrics to search for the correct title.

She goes into 9th position. Just 0.10 points behind the Scottish girl!

And that brings the curtain down on the Interclub part of the event.

Right, back at the top of the hour for the Dancers, who start in 40 minutes from now.

Leonie WOODTLI / Timon SUHNER (CHE)

Leonie is wearing a dress where the top half is white, and the skirt part is pink. With a black belt in between. Timon is wearing all black, but the shirt has sparklies on it.

Elvis medley. A Christmasfied version of "Fever", followed by a more conventional "Baby Let’s Play House".

They were really getting into the more lively second song.

Although I am not an Elvis fan, I enjoyed that.

They win, obviously.

First up are the twins, Claudia AMARO LETESTU / Marco AMARO LETESTU (POR) wearing beautiful matching deep purple costumes with copper coloured trim.

I think it is Indian music.

Oh, no. The stream has gone again! We have lower quality pictures, but no sound.

I was looking forwrd to hearing how the music developed, because I think it was going to build to something.

Sound came back about 5 seconds before the end. And it was different music with female vocals.

I'm heartbroken. They looked really good. But, I would have loved to hear the music as well as seeing the skating.

When you see them together close up, you can really see that they are twins. They are so alike!

They were only 0.21 points behind the Hungarians up next after the SP. So, it will be interesting to see if they can move up 1 position.

Villo Mira SZILAGYI / Istvan JARACS (HUN).

I wonder if their costumes were originally red, and then got painted black. Because they were both practically completely covered in black.

It was that "epic" cover by Ciara that I don't like. But then it turned into instrumental piece "The Fire Within" by Jennifer Thomas.

The skating was good.

They should stay ahead of the twins.

Yep, they increase the lead in both FD and overall to about 10 points.

CaroLiza_fan

The guitar riff at the start of the music scared the life out of me!

Lea HIENNE / Louis VARESCON (FRA) are also wearing all black. But, whereas Villo Mira was wearing a dress, Lea is wearing a jumpsuit. With quite a lot of bits cut out!

It looks so hot! 🔥

I don't recognise the first piece of music, but I do recognise who it is playing it. It is my fellow Ulsterman Gary Moore. And then the second piece was his most famous song, "Parisienne Walkways".

Well, they already had a 10 point advantage over the previous two partnerships from the SD. But, they are definitely going to increase it.

Yep. massive lead in both FD and overall.

CaroLiza_fan

Well, I suppose it is appropriate that on a Sunday morning Laura FINELLI / Massimiliano BUCCIARELLI (ITA) are skating to this music.

They didn't stay with it. It changed to two other songs from the same show. I hadn't heard the song in the middle before, "Bohemienne", but Hélène Ségara was singing it beautifully!

I honestly don't know how to describe the colour of Laura's dress and Max's matching top. It's sort of a green. He is wearing black trousers.

That was good. Personally, I preferred the provious programme. But they have a big enough lead from the SD to stay in the overall lead.

They go into a massive lead in both FD (12.31 points) and overall (20.20 points).

CaroLiza_fan

That is funny. The previous partnership was skating to a song called "Bohemienne". And now this partnership is skating to "La Boheme".

The irony is, the only Czech skaters competing in Graz this week were in Junior Ladies. And they finished on Thursday! :drama:

Anyway, Ambre PERRIER GIANESINI / Samuel BLANC KLAPERMAN (FRA) were wearing matching outfits. The top half was light grey, and the bottom half was dark grey. He was also wearing black braces.

They were good.

They go into the lead of both FD and overall.
