OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Rio is out here representing fellow figure skating pirates AND ALSO JUST DID THAT! He is also pulling a young Yuma Kagiyama - rough JGPF, amazing Nationals where you end up on the podium as a junior (indeed, Rio is the first junior to end up on the senior podium since Yuma in 2019). This is a much-needed revenge skate after the Final, and he was much more into the program than I've seen in the past - his little fist pumps were so cute!

Rio showed up. I expected to see five similar performances to this one, besides Yuma.

Clear leader. Also, Rio making the podium has basically given Shun a lock to Worlds. So, Shun must be happy Rio did so well.

Aint nothing wrong with the ice! Nakata’s a junior skater and he’s already been selected to Junior Worlds as he won Junior Nationals. He’s not age-eligible for senior competition so he’s not fighting for a Worlds spot. So he can skate free without being afraid of the ice. That was a great skate. The other guys need to get it together.
