As an author of the crowns, THANK YOU!Those crowns look beautiful
They look really happy to wear them too
Kaori better buy a bottle of ketchup to put on the words she said last season about Jr. Skaters wanting to becoming national champions. As an author of the crowns, THANK YOU!
Hope you enjoyed skaters wearing them and that the fit looked okay
Can't change the rules for one skater. If she squeaked in and someone born a month earlier missed out, they would be entitled to cry foul. And then another, a month after that...At this point with Mao you wonder how much more can she improve with her dominating for so long now at this level. She's almost too good for Juniors now and the fact she will be well over 17 and yet won't be in Milan is just wrong. Keeping 15 year old's out of the Olympics is fine but not 17.
Simply make it if you turn 17 before the end of the year prior to Worlds or the Olympics you are eligible not this nonsense if you turn a certain age before July 1st.Can't change the rules for one skater. It's unfortunate for her, but every sport has some rules that 'disadvantage' someone or other due to circumstances beyond control.
They won't change the rules before the next Olympics but might afterwards. Rule changes are often prompted by a single skater. Janet Lynn, Midori Ito (figures). Alina Zagitova's backloaded free skate. 15 year old Kamila Valieva's breakdown at the Olympics. But it would be too late for Mao, in any event.Simply make it if you turn 17 before the end of the year prior to Worlds or the Olympics you are eligible not this nonsense if you turn a certain age before July 1st.
The whole purpose is that all seniors are to be 17. Not 'nearly, isn't near enough good enough' 17. So having their birthday before the start of the season is the only fair and even vaguely reasonable way to do it, not half-way through. Especially not half-way through as a change just to favour one skater no matter how good she is.Simply make it if you turn 17 before the end of the year prior to Worlds or the Olympics you are eligible not this nonsense if you turn a certain age before July 1st.
Curious you are saying that about Wada when the only clearly under was the flip in combination in the long program, the 3lz-3t combination in the short and long programs were landed in the quarter for the toe loop at worst.Great win for Shimada. Seems like a waste having her in a junior competition, but I guess it's for her own protection . I'm just not sure about her PCS this is what Valieva was getting for iconic programs like Girl on the Ball and Exogenesis in 2019/20, higher than what Usacheva was receiving at the same time. This is more like watching impressive jumps and spins with some music in the background, rather than a cohesive beautifully presented program. There's a lot of two footed skating from one end of the rink to the other, a stiff body only the arms move, very basic transitions. The jumps especially the combos are so impressive that maybe the judges it has a halo effect on the PCS. Seriously, watch all three mentioned side by side it will shock you.
The were quite generous with Wada just dinging her for the two landings on the q. Could have easily given her several underrotations, so very fortunate. Maybe skating for some nations is a case of a rising tide lifts all boats .
Disaster for Pezzetta I thought she had turned a corner with the incredible short program performance. I was going to say she should be working on quads, but maybe once she sorts out all these popped jumps. Maybe it's a stamina issue, plus she's a lot taller than the other skaters in the last group so requires a lot more energy to make those rotations. That makes those lutzs and flips all the more impressive. She was memorable and exciting though.
